Hi all. Today I want to talk about mobile application design, or more precisely about my experience in developing application design for smartphones and tablets. I tried on my own skin what it means to be on the other side of the barricades, and now I’m ready to pour out my soul. I have already told about my story, which was not successful. The application was not passed by the moderators. But then I added an intelligent programmer to the development team too late and lost too much time, during which the relevance of my application fell below the plinth. Now the work process has been structured competently. Why? First things first.
Let me start with the fact that the idea of developing a mobile application was born by a programmer. You yourself know that the work of a programmer, just like the work of a designer, is titanic mental work coupled with a sedentary lifestyle. All this is fraught with health problems. The desire of many workers to avoid such problems " computer mouse”leads to sports. Of course, exercising at home or on the street is one thing, but when you want to have a great figure or toned muscles along with your health, then you need to connect the hardware. A lesson with a trainer is an expensive pleasure. And here all sorts of gadgets and applications come to the rescue. I took part in the development of such an application.
When uploading the application to Google Play, you also had to meet several requirements. They are described.
High resolution icon requirement "32-bit" PNG image with alpha channel" first confused me, since the maximum bit value for the PNG format in the format selection list in the "Save for Web Devices" dialog box is 24 bits. But I quickly realized that if I made the background transparent (this would be considered an alpha channel), then another 8 bits would be added to the image. This can be checked as follows: Right-click on the file - select Properties – Details and the color depth will be indicated there - 32 bits.
An image was also developed for the “Recommended” section in Google Play. The requirements for it were JPEG or 24-bit PNG (without alpha channel) and 1024 x 500 pixels. There are no problems here and this is what happened:
In order not to violate anyone's copyrights, all images and fonts were taken from free stocks with an open license. In particular, the photo stock vector and raster graphics pixabay.com. I think I will return to it again and again.
