Not all MTS subscribers know about the ability to communicate with two people at the same time. For the most part, many of them are sure that they can make a second call (or receive one) only after the first one ends. However, this is not entirely true. Thanks to the “Second Line” service, you can simultaneously communicate with two people on different lines and not miss important calls. What are the conditions of the “Second Line” service on MTS, how to connect it and how to deactivate it, if necessary, will be discussed in the current article.

Who can use the service?

All subscribers of the cellular operator we are considering can use the second line. Moreover, for those clients who entered into an agreement and purchased a SIM card after 2009, it is activated by default, that is, it is included in the initial package of services. It’s not easy to find it in your list of options, because the official name of the service is “Call Waiting and Holding.” Customers who purchased a number before 2009 can also take advantage of the opportunity to install a second line. However, in this case you will have to work a little to make it available. How to connect a second line to MTS will be described below.

Financial conditions for using the service

The Call Waiting and Holding service is provided completely free of charge. Its connection is also free of charge. Absent subscription fee. However, there are some changes in call tariffs. In particular, this applies when making two calls simultaneously. For example, you first called your work colleague, then while talking to him you remembered that you urgently need to call a friend. If ending the first call is not entirely convenient, you can call a friend directly during the conversation.

Thus, you will make two outgoing calls at the same time. In this case, charging will be carried out according to the tariff plan: the cost of two calls will be summed up and debited from the account after their completion. In the case of incoming calls, charges will not be made, since they are free. The exception is cases when we're talking about about roaming (within the network, abroad).

At the same time, on the display of the device you can see a message about the result of the actions performed.

If the “Mobile Office” and “Call Waiting/Hold” services are activated, the “Mobile Office” service will have priority. When receiving/transmitting a fax or data, the Call Waiting/Hold mode does not work and the subscriber will hear busy tones.

Call hold

“Call Hold” mode - allows you to make outgoing call or accept incoming call from the second subscriber, while the first subscriber will be in hold mode.

Also, the mode allows you to switch between calls without losing them, i.e. alternately talk with two subscribers.

When working with the “Call Waiting/Hold” service, it is better to use standard GSM control codes:

It is also possible to use the mode through the menu telephone set(see instructions for the phone).

If a subscriber calls numbers 0870 (Mobile Assistant), 0890 ( Contact Center MTS), 0876 (financial control), “Call Hold” mode doesn't work.

During a conversation, the subscriber sees the expected (second) call on the telephone display and hears a characteristic sound signal. The subscriber can answer the call, i.e. he will use the Call Waiting mode.

If, within the time specified for forwarding, the subscriber does not answer the expected (second) call, then the “Call Forwarding” mode will work for the second call. And the second call will be forwarded to the number specified for forwarding.

Tariffication

The subscriber pays only for outgoing calls, depending on tariff plan. All incoming calls to a mobile phone are free, except calls while in roaming.

“Call waiting/holding” or “Second line” is a service from Tele2, thanks to which the subscriber has the ability to accept or reject incoming calls from other subscribers during a conversation. Some mobile operators this function activated with the default SIM card. Tele2 allows its customers to decide for themselves: do they want to be available during a conversation or not? Let's look at how to connect a second line on Tele2 and how to use it in more detail.

The essence of the service

The benefits of the call waiting service are obvious. For example, you are waiting for an important business call, and at the same time your best friend calls, deciding to tell you something interesting in the next half hour. Or you make dozens of work calls every day and at the same time do not want to miss equally important incoming calls. With the “Second Line” service on Tele2 you can safely talk on mobile phone as much as needed.

The service works as follows. During a conversation, the phone will signal a second incoming call in the form of short tone beeps. The number from which the call is being made will appear on the screen, as well as the name if this number entered into the phone book. In this case, the subscriber can perform the following actions:

  • answer a new call, causing the first conversation to go on hold;
  • reject a new call and continue the current conversation;
  • don't react to new challenge At all, after a while the second call will be dropped automatically.

If the second call is answered, you can repeatedly switch between the two subscribers, alternately placing them in hold mode. If you ignore the next incoming call, the beeps will continue until the second subscriber hangs up. In addition, it is always possible to make new outgoing calls without interrupting the current conversation, but only leaving it on hold.

With the “Call Hold/Waiting” service, the subscriber himself determines which call has higher priority for him. Therefore, it is recommended to connect this option to every Tele2 subscriber, especially those who talk on the phone for a long time.

Connecting and disconnecting the service

Now briefly about how to connect and disconnect the second line. To manage work of this service mobile operator Tele2 has reserved two USSD commands:

  • * 43 # – connection;
  • # 43 # – shutdown.

Each time after sending a request, a message is sent to your phone about a change in the status of the service.

There is another way to activate the second line on Tele2. To use it, you need to go to the phone menu “Settings-Calls”, select a SIM card and check the box next to the “Parallel call” item. The exact names of menu items depend on the phone/smartphone model.

If the second line is disconnected at mobile device, then during a conversation the next caller will receive a “Busy” signal in the form of short beeps. If the option is enabled, then instead of short beeps the phrase will be repeated: “Please wait, the subscriber is busy”

Price

Activation (deactivation) of the “Second Line” service on Tele2 is free of charge, regardless of the chosen method and the number of repetitions. There is no charge for the service. All voice calls while using the service are charged according to the current tariff plan.
