Software and shell.

The world of tablets is constantly updated with models that combine compactness, functionality and affordable cost. easily replace a smartphone, and when necessary, cope with all work and multimedia tasks.

Over time, tablets are replacing regular smartphones from the market.

Such tablets include the Tab 2 A7-30DC from the famous Lenovo brand. Let's take a closer look at what is remarkable about this model, what is hidden under the body of a small and affordable device?

Scope of delivery

With your tablet you will receive only the essentials: charger, documentation and USB cable. However, if you need something else, it’s easier to buy it separately than to pay for an unnecessary accessory.

Design

Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC is made simply and unobtrusively: the usual black plastic body, logical placement of keys and connectors. The volume and power buttons are placed on the right side, on top you will see a headphone jack and USB cable. The back of the case is made of matte plastic, however, the design has some flaws. So, the lid is non-removable and after a while it begins to creak.

This is its only disadvantage appearance, otherwise the design is not satisfactory. As for the size, the tablet fits into a large pocket and looks like big smartphone. Therefore, if your main requirement for such equipment is compactness, the Tab 2 A7-30DC is an excellent choice. This is the case when the device has everything you need to work and play multimedia, and you can take it with you on any trip.

Screen

The tablet is equipped with a 7-inch IPS screen, which means it has good color reproduction and large viewing angles. If we talk about brightness, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC produces a clear image that can be seen in the sun, which is a significant advantage of this technology.

There is also a minus - the low screen resolution and pixel density of 170 per inch. This means that pixelation will be noticeable during use, so high-resolution lovers should avoid this model when choosing a tablet. But let's remember the dimensions and - taking them into account, the screen is more than good. In addition, if you expect to get a gadget that will work all day, then you need it to hold a charge well, in which case such a screen is a practical solution, because it does not consume a lot of energy.

An additional advantage is that the display is protected by glass, which further increases its reliability.

Performance

Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC comes with a quad-core MediaTek MT8382M processor, the clock speed of each core reaches up to 1.3 GHz. RAM there is not much in the device - about 1 Gy, but this does not affect performance too much.

What tasks is a tablet suitable for? First of all, considering the size and price, it is an ideal work tool. It will also cope well with multimedia - the processor speed is enough to play any videos and films.

As for games, the tablet was not developed for them, since they require large resources of RAM, processor and powerful graphics, however, on the Tab 2 A7-30DC you can install many applications with minimal settings to play, but the newest and most powerful ones they will not be displayed normally.

Multimedia capabilities

The tablet is well suited as a compact multimedia center for those who are used to always having a means of viewing photos, videos and listening to music with them. Thanks to its convenient size, it is convenient to carry with you, and its characteristics will ensure the quick completion of all multimedia tasks.

More specifically, a 7-inch screen is enough to watch movies on the go, and it will also be convenient for accessing the Internet. Listening to music on your tablet is a pleasure, because it is equipped with a Dolby Audio speaker, which guarantees high quality sound, which is a definite advantage of the model.

As already mentioned, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC has good performance, which is more than enough for working with multimedia. To store files on the device, there are 8 or 16 GB of memory - this is not so much, but they can be supplemented with a card of up to 32 GB.

Battery and operating time

The tablet comes with a 3450 mAh battery and will provide about 8 hours of continuous operation when using the Internet and regular applications. If you watch the video, then the time battery life decreases slightly, but overall this is a very respectable figure for an inexpensive compact model. The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC will last a whole working day without additional charging, which only adds to its attractiveness, in addition to its small size.

Camera

The model has two cameras - 2 Mpc and a front module 0.3 Mpc. There is no autofocus or flash, so you will have to forget about taking good pictures, however, there are cameras and smartphones for such tasks. But the camera will help out if you urgently need to shoot something, and the front module will cope with video communication - nothing more is required from it.

Operating system and programs

Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC has Android system 4.4 KitKat, it is possible to upgrade to the fifth version of this platform. Lenovo Launcher HD 1.4.5 is used as the shell. The system looks the same as on all equipment of this brand. The standard set includes a browser, mail, file manager, standard alarm clock and a calculator, a menu for voice calls, etc. - everything you need to start using it.

Since this is Android, you can always install any applications you need from the store Google Play. The menu is designed in the form of desktops; you can create up to 9 such panels. Separately issued and quick settings. The system works quickly, without failures, so its use will leave only the best impressions.

It’s also worth mentioning the support for a SIM card in the tablet - you can make calls from it, and the speaker and microphone work well, you don’t even have to connect a headset. The call menu looks similar to that on a phone, so it’s convenient to use.

Competitors

One of the main competitors of the review model is the Asus ZenPad C 7 3G 8GB. This tablet is no less well-known brand than Lenovo, has almost the same price and similar parameters: a 7-inch IPS screen, support for SIM cards, a slightly lower processor frequency (1.2 GHz) and 1 GB of RAM. It does not have enough built-in memory - 8 GB, but this problem is solved by adding a card.

If we take into account lesser-known brands, then when looking for a tablet with such parameters as the review model, you should pay attention to the GoClever Quantum 700 Mobile Pro(it costs less than $100) and is just as inexpensive Prestigio MultiPad Color 2 3G Black.

The first tablet has the same characteristics as the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC, but it only has 8 GB of internal memory, but it has 2 SIM cards. The second device is no different from the previous one, but does not support telephony.

Thus, there are several gadgets that can compete with the Lenovo model. However, among well-known brands there are only two or three of them, and other analogues in terms of characteristics are incomparably more expensive. All that remains is to look for options among lesser-known brands, which, however, are even more affordable.

Pros and cons

The tablet has the following advantages:

  • Screen with wide viewing angles.
  • Good performance for the budget segment of devices.
  • Availability of 3G and SIM card support.
  • High quality speaker.
  • Capacious battery.

Among the disadvantages: bad cameras, visible pixelation of the screen due to its low resolution, imperfect body design.

Conclusions

Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC is great budget tablet, which has optimal parameters and does not have too significant disadvantages. For a low cost you will receive compact device with a good screen, a battery that will allow you to use the device throughout the day and optimal performance. The tablet can handle: Internet surfing, office applications, even with games. You will be pleased to watch a movie or listen to music thanks to the high-quality speaker, which, by the way, will allow you to use the model as a phone even without a headset.

The presence of all parameters for basic tasks, small dimensions, support for a SIM card and 3G make the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30DC an excellent work tool, a multimedia center that will always come in handy when traveling. In general, the combination of brand recognition, good hardware and low price makes it very attractive to a large segment of users, so the tablet is definitely worth attention.

Inexpensive 7-inch tablets are the largest segment represented on the modern computer market.

Budget lines are available from all major manufacturing companies, including.

In mid-2015, a series of popular Tablets Tab 2 A7, A8, A10, differing in display diagonal (7,8,10 inches, respectively).

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30HC tablet model in question, which we will review, differs from the rest of the line (A7-30GC, A7-30F, A7-30H) by simultaneously having Wi-Fi, 3G Internet + voice communication GSM.

The new product was presented at Russian market in the fall of 2015 with a price of just under 10 thousand rubles. Nowadays the gadget has become more affordable, and it can be purchased from 8 thousand rubles.

Reviews for this device are mostly positive, most users are satisfied good quality assembly from a well-known brand, good display and performance.

Packaging, delivery set

The tablet is packed in a black box with a picture of the device itself on the front side.

On the back there is a branded sticker describing the main characteristics, serial number And .

In the box itself, in addition to the gadget, you can find a 5V 1A charger, a micro-USB cable for charging/synchronization, a coupon warranty service, instructions for use in 3 languages (English, Russian, Kazakh).

There is also a notification brochure about the transfer of SN and IMEI data of the device for registration and after-sales service.

Design, materials

The tablet is made of a matte plastic case, rectangular in shape with slightly beveled corners. The surface is smooth, pleasant to the touch, and does not slip.

However, the finishing material itself is quite easily soiled; within 5 minutes of use without a cover, the lid collects a huge number of fingerprints. Fortunately, they can be removed quickly enough with a spray and microfiber.

The device is available in 4 colors: white, black, blue and pink. It lies very comfortably in your hands, has a light weight - 269 grams and small dimensions: 191x105x9 mm (length/width/thickness).

The assembly was performed with sufficient quality, without creaks and, however, according to the experience of users, during operation one can note the appearance of some “crickets”.

On the front side there is a 7-inch display, on top of the inscription "Lenovo" you can find front camera and the basis of the speaker.

On the rear side there is the main camera, although without a flash.

In the center of the case there is a logo of the manufacturer, and at the bottom there is a sticker indicating the date of manufacture, serial number, IMEI numbers, as well as information about the need to use charger with current 5V 1A.

There are no control buttons on the left side; there is only a compartment hidden under a flap for installing a memory card and SIM card.

On the right side there are buttons for adjusting the volume and controlling the device on/off.

At the top end there are jacks for connecting a headset and a micro-USB cable.

There is only one main microphone at the bottom end; there is no additional one to provide noise reduction.

Screen

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30HC has a glossy IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and a pixel density of only 170 ppi.

The indicators are quite modest; grain in the image is visible to the naked eye. As for brightness, contrast, saturation, here things are much better - the presence of a good matrix has an effect.

Horizontal viewing angles are quite high - about 160-170 degrees. There is a little less vertically, but no color inversion is noticeable, only the brightness decreases, hence the readability deteriorates.

This model does not provide automatic brightness adjustment. There are also no problems with reading outdoors in sunny weather.

The disadvantages include some thoughtfulness of the sensor or its not entirely adequate behavior. It happens that it works every other time.

The sRGB color gamut indicators turned out to be less than the reference value, but not significantly, color rendering in of this instance on the level.

During games, the tablet heats up a little, but everything is within acceptable limits, there is no discomfort.

The benchmark results are as follows :

Antutu:

CPU-Z:

How to determine best device? Manufacturers often focus on speed - new smartphone or the tablet of this or that company should get ahead of competitors and dial maximum quantity"parrots" in Antutu. But in most cases, this level of performance is not even needed or is used extremely rarely. But the factor influences the price upward. But many users, in fact, need a tablet that will perform the simplest and most unpretentious work in terms of productivity. This is exactly our hero Lenovo TAB 2 A7.

Design

A familiar tablet design at first glance, which is found in many Lenovo devices, looks completely different here.

Small nuances, small changes that are invisible at first glance. For example, the designers decided to make the corners of the “tablet” sharper, and this influenced the overall perception - the device seems original with a complete “thought”. The glossy finish along the contour of the display also extends to the side edges.

For the back side, plastic with a soft-touch coating is used, which slightly collects fingerprints and stains. The slot for the memory card and SIM card immediately catches your eye. I was pleasantly pleased with the small and neat camera eye with a thin edging.

The thickness of the tablet is 8.9 mm, but the smoothness of the corners from the side edges to the back makes it almost invisible. The device is not super light, one might say average, with noticeable weight, but I did not experience any discomfort in using it.

The model comes in four colors - blue, pink, black and white.

Display

The 7-inch screen is made using IPS technology. The resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels at 160 ppi, and the grain is quite noticeable. The brightness is good, it is completely enough for working in a very well-lit room (photo studio, for example - you got bored and went on a social network while the photographer went to talk on the phone) and in not the most sunny weather.

The viewing angles are excellent horizontally, and quite good vertically too - the color is not inverted, the brightness and, accordingly, readability simply decreases. Color rendition is good, shades are quite saturated, blacks are good. The sensitivity of the touch layer is average.

Sound

The sound of the device is good, as for a budget employee, but it is enough for a small room and complete silence around. With headphones, the volume fades surprisingly quickly - you have to listen really hard to hear anything. Although usually headphones are worn just to block out external noise.

Performance

The performance is driven by a quad-core MediaTek MT8382M processor with clock frequency 1.3 GHz. And for graphics - Mali-400 MP. 1 GB of RAM is provided, and 16 GB are allocated for data storage, of which 12 GB or more are available.

In games, the tablet is quite fast, it launches light applications quickly, and resource-intensive ones - it might give you pause, but not for long. In games everything was quite smooth, without delays, only in a few racing simulators it slowed down noticeably. For everyday simple work its performance is more than enough. I didn’t notice any heating of the case - even at maximum load it remained barely warm. During the entire period of use, I never rebooted it or turned it off, which in itself is a good sign.

Interface and software

Android 4.4.2 is installed here branded shell from the manufacturer, and the update to Lollipop will be available in the summer. All applications are placed on desktops; up to nine applications can be created. The notification panel and quick settings panel open separately.

Camera

The main camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels, and I don’t see any point in describing this. Suffice it to say that you will still succeed in taking a portrait in good lighting. As for macro photography and landscapes, you will get a classic 2 MP camera.

Videos can be shot in a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Communications

The tablet has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS modules with A-GPS support. The presence of a slot for a mini SIM card guarantees operation with a 3G network.

The microUSB connector is standard - for charging and for connecting to a PC.

Opening hours

A non-removable battery with a capacity of 3450 mAh is capable of providing good time autonomous work. With moderate use (with Wi-Fi module, surfing the Internet and standby mode) it lasted for about 1.5-2 days. With constant use (the same surfing the Internet, but continuous, watching videos), the tablet was discharged in 8 hours. Gaming will cut this time in half. Rare economical use will stretch the battery charge for 4-7 days.

Impressions

I liked the Lenovo TAB 2 A7, especially its design and good level of performance - this will be enough for an undemanding user. And given its affordability, you can forgive minor shortcomings and a 2 MP main camera. On the other hand there is 3G to access mobile internet, as well as a good 7-inch screen for web surfing and watching movies. In general, everything you need.

PECULIARITIES

Interesting design.

Good battery life.

3G support.
