Restore the router to factory settings. Most users probably won't like this recommendation because it involves completely reconfiguring the router. However, sometimes it is useful to start with clean slate. If you have the time and desire to configure your router again, try resetting it to factory settings and see how this affects the quality of your connection.

Switch the network to 802.11n mode. Many complaints come from users new MacBooks, working with pre-release 802.11ac routers.
