Filter the list of keywords. How to put a filter on comments on social networks Filter by keywords on VKontakte

The “Comment Filter” option is available in every VKontakte group, and it can be activated at any minute. First of all, this tool will be useful to large communities where the possibility of commenting and discussing posts on the wall is open.

In fact, the VK comment filter is an automatic moderator that will save the group administration from manually reviewing all messages left. Unsolicited statements, other people's advertising and spam are commonplace for large and interesting groups, but cleaning them takes a lot of time.

In this step by step instructions site site we will learn how to enable the comment filtering function, and also understand its capabilities.

Automatic filtering will save the group from a lot of unwanted or obscene messages, and we can delete all other comments ourselves.

VK group comment filter: how to connect and configure

Step #1

Let's go to the VK community where we should enable the comment filter functions, go to the "Community Management" menu:

Step #2

In the “Settings” menu, select the “Comments” submenu:

Step #3

Find the “Comment Filter” item and check the first top box (check the box). With this simple operation, we have already eliminated most of the unwanted messages, including obscene and abusive language.

Note that the built-in VK dictionary was compiled by professional linguists and philologists in 4 languages, and therefore is highly effective at filtering out unwanted and obscene phrases.

In the same way we set up a private filter (by keywords), into which we will add several advertising phrases to get rid of spam and unwanted advertising comments.

The second filter is configured in manual mode, it contains unwanted stop words that will be used for filtering (separated by commas).

Let's enter, for example, the following words into this filter:

go ahead, come in, subscribe, take a look, new group, subscribe, join, join, add, get added, buy, sell, ads, announcement, site, vacancies, inexpensive, cheap, price, prices, upload, upload, download, install, loading, installation, more

IMPORTANT: You must understand that any new word or phrase added to the filter will clear the wall of all comments that contain it.

The choice of stop words must be individual each time so that the filter does not interfere with the normal work of the group. It will not be possible to use blocked words and phrases in comments, and you need to be very careful with your filtering settings!

Step #4

After setting up the filters, you must save the result using the “SAVE” button, otherwise all your settings will be lost, and the filters for clearing VK comments will not start working normally. Don't forget to click it before leaving the page.

Operation logic

The module for filtering the list of keywords, like the module for generating new keywords, is a submodule of the “List of Keywords” interface element and acts as a processor of all keywords entering or already received in the parent instance of the “List”. Before getting into the instance of the “Keyword List” interface element, all keywords go through the keyword filter (if the filter is enabled in the “Keyword List” control panel with the button). The filter decides (according to user-specified rules) whether the word will actually be added to the list or not.

The filter allows you to set rules according to which keywords that want to be included in the “List” will be filtered out. These rules are divided into two groups, applied to filtered words in the following order:

  • Allowed words(“Allow”) - tested for compliance key phrase must contain a permitted word. Allows you to effectively narrow your targeting by phrases of interest that are included in the current “List”.
If the list of allowed words empty, all phrases supplied to the filter input are considered to have passed the sieve allowed words, and are immediately sent for checking with the list prohibited words.
  • Forbidden words(“Deny”, also known as “stop words”) - the tested phrase cannot contain a stop word. Stop words allow you to limit the range of phrases included in the current “List” when the user does not have an exhaustive set of allowed words, but knows exactly which words should not be included in the “List”.

If the tested keyword phrase contains any word from the list allowed words(or list allowed words empty) and does not contain any of the list prohibited words, this phrase ends up in the current instance of the Keyword List element (the original List whose filter was configured by the user).

The filter is enabled in the control panel of the instance of the “List of Keywords” interface element being used. Once turned on, the filter begins to process all words sent by “Magadan” to the “List” processed by the filter. Enabling the filter does not process words already in the filtered “List”. To filter the current set of words in the “List” at a time, use the “ Apply to current list of keywords" (cm. ).

Interface

As mentioned earlier, the filter is enabled in the control panel of the instance of the Keyword List interface element being used.

The filter interface consists of two main tabs: “ Tolerance" And " Ban" They are used to specify lists permitted And prohibited words respectively.

Each tab (“Tolerance” and “Ban”) allows you to add words to the corresponding list manually, download words from external files or connect pre-prepared databases of allowed or prohibited words.

The title of each tab displays the number of words added to it.

The list of filtered words includes all keywords that did not pass filtering, i.e. not satisfying one or another filter conditions. The list is available for viewing from the filter control menu located in the control panel of the “Keyword List” interface element.

Examples of using a filter

Below are examples of comparative results using different filter configurations. The tables from left to right indicate the intermediate results of passing the words located in the first column through all filtering stages. One of the main functions of social networks is to unite people who are passionate about the same hobby or interested in the same topic into special communities. In them you can read interesting material, discuss the subject of the group, write comments and much more. And, of course, messages may contain inappropriate information, including obscene language. In order for the community to function efficiently and continuously, moderators need to get rid of inappropriate information. And this can be done in two ways - by searching and deleting manually or by using a comment filter.

What is a comment filter?

A filter is a special tool created to make it easier for moderators and administrators to work with the community. It automatically deletes messages based on keywords that may initially be found in the social network database (dictionary of obscene expressions) or manually entered. That is, to limit the public from swearing, you just need to turn on the appropriate filter. He will look for obscene speech on the wall and in the comments and delete it. The dictionary of obscene expressions was created by professional linguists in several languages, including Ukrainian and English. The fact of deletion will be recorded in history. However, in this case, the veiled obscenity (with the replacement of some letters with dots or other signs) will not be removed.

To rid your community of swearing and spam completely, you need to enter keywords manually. Then the level of protection will be increased.

How to connect this tool?

Connection of this instrument accessible only to a user who has administrator rights. To do this, you need to open the “Comments” section in community management, where the editing menu is available. To enable the use of a filter using a dictionary of swear words, simply check the box in the top box. To include keywords entered manually, you need to check the second box and enter the words separated by commas. A word can be any set of characters, the number of which is more than one character.

In conclusion, it is important to say that this filter is a very important tool for controlling public comments and a large number subscribers. The absence of inappropriate language improves the community qualitatively. It will look much better from the outside and will be more pleasant for subscribers to use.
