In fact, this solution perfectly combines the new Mi Sports headset with a fitness tracker Xiaomi old series. An interesting move, but we expect more.
However, externally the headset was a success. Although it looks like 2 “mibands” connected by a cord, it looks good. 
The speaker is placed in a “fairing”, thanks to which the musical part is separated from the digital filling. The headphones are in-ear, using regular Xiaomi ear pads. 
The headset is designed to be behind-the-ear. The earphone capsule continues with a solid earhook. The design is rigid and does not bend. 
The wire has a durable rubber (?) braid without memory effect. Doesn't get tangled or twisted. Excess can be removed using a tiny logo holder. 
A one-button remote control with a microphone is located asymmetrically on the wire. Barely larger than a holder, practically weightless.
Controls: simplicity without complication
The headset is controlled using two buttons on the right earpiece (volume “+”, “-”) and a button on the remote control. With the help of the latter you can: accept, reject or end a call, turn on the player or pause the music.
Connecting Mi Sports to your smartphone is done by long pressing the button on the remote control.
In the case of the new sports headset, Xiaomi somehow managed without any applications and “smart” functions. It's simple - turn on Bluetooth on your phone, hold down the button on the remote control.
Then you need to find several hieroglyphs in the list of available devices and connect it. And here, too, there are no innovations - the headphones work with any sound sources: iOS and Android devices, laptops and even Smart TV.
Disappointment for audiophiles and luck for Apple fans
Xiaomi Mi Sports uses Bluetooth 4.1 protocol, but provides connectivity to most modern devices- Version 3.0 and higher is sufficient.
Why has Mi Sports become a disappointment for audiophiles, you ask? It's simple - no aptX support. None at all. Accordingly, you can forget about a more or less “fat” audio stream.
Strictly speaking - nothing surprising. The presence of aptX support does not yet mean that you can listen to music with a 320 kbps stream without reducing quality, not to mention losseless formats.
Should we care? It’s unlikely, because the iPhone doesn’t support it anyway. But owners of other equipment will be disappointed. But there are no problems with connection: Mi Sports work with anything, both in conversation mode and for listening to music.
Testing the sound:
Xiaomi Mi Sports provides loud, clear, fairly balanced sound. The low frequencies are clearly overestimated - to please the mass user, nothing more.
The sound of the headset is tailored precisely so that the average buyer will turn it on in a crowded place immediately after purchase, smile, and go about his business.
I'll like this approach to sound and bassheads - but you'll have to work a little with the equalizer.
Most high-quality wired plugs sound richer. However, if you compare Xiaomi Mi Sports with popular models of wired “senheisers”, ordinary Sony for 1500 rubles or your favorite Russian users Piston - Mi Sports sound louder, richer, brighter.
In the battle with any cheap multi-driver headsets, of which there are a lot on the market, the new Xiaomi product certainly loses.

Maximum volume or presence of serious interference (however, system unit or a couple of servers nearby are not such for the tested headset) reduces this parameter to 5 hours. But you won't listen so loudly.
Personal experience: two sleepless weeks with Mi Sports
It so happened that testing the new Xiaomi headset coincided with a very busy work and school period. I literally had to live through this time with her, using Mi Sports as my main headphones.
Despite the serious dimensions by earplug standards, the headphones fit perfectly without causing discomfort. This is largely due to the behind-the-ear fit. The design of the earhook is well thought out, although when running you want to press it tighter.
The battery works out its values honestly, and, if necessary, is quickly replenished using most portable batteries - any source with an output of 5V, 1 A will do. If the headset is connected but inactive, the charge is practically not wasted.
The volume is sufficient in all cases. Speech is intelligible in both directions – even in high noise environments.
A noticeable drawback of Mi Sports is complete sound insulation. This is very good for regular headphones, but when playing sports, driving a car and some situations that require increased attention, you have to turn off the music or put an earphone on your ear (just behind the ear).
Was I comfortable? Yes. Was it difficult to manage? No. Perhaps as an additional wireless accessory, hand-free for certain cases, I'll get myself exactly her. As always, Xiaomi is cheap, high quality and convenient.
Should you run or listen to music?
Xiaomi positions its devices very clearly. We all know that there are only two categories out of three that can be combined: cheap, high quality, convenient.
In the case of her first Bluetooth headset, she reduced the cost as much as possible and ensured ease of use. The catch is hidden in the sound quality.
I won't say that Mi Sports sound bad. Already gaining popularity on Russian market The Meizu EP-51 headset sounds frankly worse to the ear of a music lover. But terms of use wireless headset suggest slightly different usage scenarios. 
Compared to most sports headsets, Xiaomi looks very advantageous.

I’ve been thinking for a long time about getting wireless headphones for cycling and more. I’m not a fan of Xiaomi, let’s say I’m an amateur, but I respect it for its quality and price. So I thought about getting the ears from Xiaomi too.

The model is quite new and went on sale in China only on November 11 under the name Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset. They have protection according to the IPX4 standard, which means the degree of protection against dust and water in accordance with international standard IEC 60529. So these headphones are not afraid of rain, but this does not mean that they can be completely immersed in water.
Outwardly they resemble the first Mi Band capsule, only a little shorter. I don’t know whether to classify this as a plus, or whether it’s a minus, time will tell. But when ordering, I somehow didn’t pay much attention to this similarity.

Through the window in the box we can see the headphones themselves, they are laid out in the shape of a heart, it could be perfect for a girl on February 14 or March 8, only the headphones should be taken in a more girly color - namely white. For some reason the manufacturer did not provide other colors. On the front there is the company logo.
On the back side are indicated technical specifications, and there is a sticker with a verification code so that you can make sure it’s not a fake. I was too lazy to check, and gearbest was not noticed selling counterfeits. Ali used to come across similar setups, but through an argument he easily proved it and overcame unscrupulous seller their hard-earned money.

The manufacturer promised a weight of 17.8 g, but I got a hell of a lot of 18 grams, but the weight probably does not include the ear cups.
Connect via Bluetooth 4.1 to a smartphone, player, tablet, etc. What’s most interesting is that you can simultaneously connect to two devices at once, and then easily switch between them. I already noticed this during testing, connecting them to two smartphones.
Connecting is quite simple, turn on Bluetooth in your smartphone, then hold down the power button and hold it, if the earphone is on your ear, you can hear the Chinese woman telling us something. The smartphone will find the device, although the name will be in hieroglyphs, but you can give it your name.
Also, using the A2DP standard, it is possible to transmit stereo sound via Bluetooth. And the declared battery capacity is 110 mAh, which should be enough for 7 hours of continuous listening.
But I personally won’t be able to listen to music for that long. From full charge, before they sat down, 4 days passed with me, listening to music about 1.5 hours a day. This means I only got 6 hours of listening, but I didn’t measure this with a stopwatch.
The speaker is stated to have a metal composite diaphragm and promise clear dynamic sound without interference or distortion. A silicon MEMS microphone is installed: it suppresses extraneous noise and transmits clear, stable sound. The interlocutor really hears me perfectly, even when I’m talking in a noisy place.
The hardest thing now is to describe the sound in words, for me there are three concepts: they sound terrible, they sound good, and generally super sound. These headphones sound good to me, and it seemed to me that there were too many high frequencies. You need to tweak the equalizer a little to suit you. And with average and low frequencies complete order. The maximum volume is quite decent, for me personally full volume It’s not comfortable listening to music, I reduce it by about 15%, and then it’s generally great.
And I liked the excellent sound insulation.
Since I foresee that music lovers will join in and begin to criticize, I would like to say right away that I personally am satisfied with the sound. I expected even worse results.
I didn’t use the original ear pads, I decided to remove the already tested ones from my old Panasonic RP-HJE125, to which my ears had become accustomed over many years of use) But a clear plus is that the kit includes spare ones different sizes, easy to match to any ear.
They sit quite comfortably and do not fall off
To fully charge the gadget you need about an hour, it’s quite convenient to do this from a power bank, throw it in your backpack, let it charge while you enjoy the noise of street traffic, etc.
