WiFi byfly settings. Network check and error correction

As a result, we get a Promsvyaz M200a modem that is completely ready for use. I repeat, the functionality of the modem allows you to use it as an ADSL modem, router, wireless Wi-Fi access point, to which you can connect several devices at once. For example: a computer via a network cable; laptop, phone, tablet via Wi-Fi at the same time.

In this way, you can quickly create a home local wireless network based on Promsvyaz M200a. Seamlessly access the Internet, share files and data between various devices without wires.

To set up the M200a modem, we need a working computer (laptop) without viruses and network cable(included with the modem) to connect to the modem for initial setup. Naturally - you must be a subscriber of the Beltelecom Internet provider with a connected and active service ByFly.

For normal operation of a computer or laptop, we recommend using effective antiviruses with an annual license and a description in Russian. You can compare and download antiviruses from developer sites using this link.

Initial setup of the ByFly Promsvyaz M200a ADSL modem:

  1. We connect the computer’s network cable to the 1, 2 or 3rd LAN port of the modem (we use these ports for connection since the fourth is reserved for IP TV with DHCP disabled). Launch on your computer Chrome browser(Opera, FireFox, IE - any will do).
  2. We go to the modem interface. To do this, enter the numbers (without spaces) into the address bar of the browser: 192.168.1.1 (this is the default IP address of the Promsvyaz M200a modem). Press Enter.

Sometimes the default IP address may be changed or unavailable. There is a fairly simple way.

If, for some reason, you cannot log in, you should check the state of the computer’s operating system and/or reboot the modem.

If you cannot get into the interface of the Promsvyaz M200a modem-router, try using a different browser. In some cases, it is better to reset the modem to factory settings and start the setup again. To do this, press and hold a special recessed button in the device body for 5 seconds with a sharp object (a needle, an unbent paper clip).

Sometimes it is enough to simply change the browser or remove the old antivirus (especially if it is not updated). An antivirus can cause problems on your computer, including working with WEB interfaces. In rare cases it is necessary. Especially if the Internet on your computer is slow with constant connection interruptions.

  3. After the modem address has been entered, a window appears for entering the modem administrator name and password. Enter the password -admin, user -admin.

  4. We get into the modem interface.
  5. Click the Interface Setup tab. We go to the Interface Setup tab and the Internet subtab. Everything should be like in the picture below.
  6. You need to change the fields: username (in the Beltelecom agreement - the user), password (in the agreement this is the password) and Bridge Interface. We check for the active Default Route checkbox in the “YES” position. Click SAVE.
  7. Open the LAN tab. You don’t need to change anything here (DNS servers will rise automatically!)

Or as in the picture DNS ByFly for the city of Minsk.

For DNS settings set the DNS Relay menu to USED USER DESCOVERED DNS state DNS servers) - indicate yours.

Can be used public DNS Google servers - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - suitable for any region of Belarus. Read more about Google settings DNS in the article. Save the settings. If you use Promsvyaz M200a only as a wired ADSL modem - further customization not required.

    1. Configuring the Promsvyaz M200a modem into wireless Wi-Fi router mode

The laptop should indicate that it is connected to the wireless network. If the laptop does not display the network, the driver for the network card may not be installed.

Sometimes there may be other problems with the laptop that lead to problems with wireless networks.
Use the services of our company: professional in Minsk.

Hello friends! In this article I will give you the answer to the question - how to set up wifi on byfly? After all, using a router at home, you can access the Internet from several computers or devices that support wifi technology. Undoubtedly, this is very convenient and will save you from constantly getting in the way of Internet cables under your feet. In this article we will look at the ZTE modem and Promsvyaz M200A.

Setting up wifi on byfly begins by connecting the cable to your modem and computer. To do this, take the wire that came with the modem and connect one end to the computer’s network card, and the other to the LAN port on the modem. Just don’t confuse it with an ADSL port, it won’t fit there anyway.

Go to the modem interface

The basic setup of the byfly router begins with logging into the modem interface. To do this, open any Internet browser (Opera, GC, IE, MF, Safari) and in the address bar located at the very top, enter the following - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter. You will be prompted to enter your username and password. Enter the Username admin and Password admin. And you find yourself in the modem interface.

Setting up the Internet

And at the end, wifi setup on byfly I moved on to the main point - setting up an Internet connection. And so let’s get started, click the “Interface Setup” tab and immediately go to the “Internet” submenu. In the Encapsulation item, set the point to “PPPoA/PPPoE” and below select “PPPoE LLC”. Next, you need to enter your Internet connection information. In the “User Name” field, enter your name according to the contract. And in the “Password” field we also enter your Internet password. We put a dot in the “Bridge Interface” item on Activated. We check whether the point on the “Default Route” item is set to Yes. Click the “Save” button.

Setting up a local network

In principle, the local network settings can be left unchanged, or set as in the picture and enter the DNS of your city (the example shows for the city of Minsk). After changing the settings, do not forget to save by clicking on the “Save” button.

Setting up a wireless network

Setting up wifi on byfly moves on to the final point, namely setting up a wireless network. To do this, go to the Wireless tab. First, we activate wi-fi on the router (it may be disabled by default). In the “Access Point Settings” item, put a dot in the Activated option. In the “Pre-Shared Key” field, enter the password you created to enter the wi-fi network. We come up with and enter a network name in the “SSID” field (English layout is required. Click the “Save” button.

I hope that I was able to answer the question in more detail - how to set up wifi on byfly. I think that in this article I will help you become more experienced and raise your level of knowledge in the field of computer literacy and networking.

A hundred years ago, wireless communications for ordinary people was the ultimate fantasy, but progress does not stand still, and almost every home has Wi-Fi installed (which is short for Wireles Fidelity - wireless accuracy).

In order to switch from a direct connection to a wireless network, you need to purchase and configure a modem (router).

According to standard

Standard, or in other words, a version of the router protocol (which you can find in the instructions, on the box or on the Internet). Format wireless communication tells us about the power of Wi-Fi, Internet speed and network usage radius.

Modern standards:

  1. 802.11g - approved in 2003, maximum speed- 54 Mbps, power - up to 2.5 GHz
  2. 802.11n - approved in 2009, speed up to 300−600 megabits per second, power up to 5 GHz. As we can see, 802.11n is a newer and improved format, but the price of the router will be higher. When choosing, you should pay attention to how many meters of living space and how many devices will usually be connected to the network.

By number of antennas

The more external antennas, the more stable the signal will be. For example, for a small two-room apartment it is suitable router with one antenna, and for a three/four-room apartment they recommend at least two. You should also pay attention to the thickness of the walls. But there are routers that do not have external antennas, but only internal ones. In this case, you need to refer to the instructions again and look at the signal gain, it is expressed in dBi units. For example, 2−4 dBi is enough for a one/two-room apartment. On average, routers indicate 15 dBi.

How to connect wifi byfly

To configure the router, it is not necessary to call a specialist. This is a fairly simple task that anyone can handle. Let's take the byfly router as an example.

  • Connect the router to power.
  • On the router you can find connectors for the cable. They come in two types: WAN, where the main Internet cable is connected directly, LAN - a port connector for connecting a computer and a router directly. So, disconnect the main cable from the computer and attach it to the connector of the WAN router. Along with the router in the box you will find a medium-length cable. We connect one end to the computer, in the same place of the main cable, and the second - directly to the LAN connector. Make sure that the router signals light up!
  • Setting up the router happens through main computer. To do this, go to your browser and enter address bar the next one is 192.168.1.1. and navigate with Enter. Attention! Depending on the router model, the numbers may differ. If after the transition the browser gives an error with the network, or there is no response at all, then most likely the problem is in the network connection settings
  1. Click start
  2. Find and select the "control panel" tab
  3. Depending on your Windows, find the adapter settings. If Windows 7, then through the network control center, if XP, then through “network connections”
  4. By using right click mouse click on network connection/high-speed connection. Select properties and go to the “network” section. Let's look at the properties of the TCP/IP protocol. The “obtain an IP address automatically” and “obtain an address automatically” functions must be enabled.
  • We return to the browser and try again. An authorization window should appear, enter the word in both fields - Admin. Let's go to main panel Wi-Fi router settings - Promsvyaz. Select Interface Setup from the menu, then go to the Internet tab. The ATM VC field is left unchanged. In the Encapsulation field in the ISP parameters, select PPPoA/PPPoE. In the next, additional field PPPoA/PPPoE, you indicate the username and password, which you can find in the contract or find out by calling your network operator. Next, select Activated in the Bridge Interface parameters. And just below, select the YES item in the Default Route request. Next, save the data (Save button).
  • And here is the finish line. Remaining in the Interface Setup panel menu, select the Wireless section. As always, we leave the first field unchanged. For Wi-Fi to work and start distributing the network, select Activated in the PerSSID Switch request. Then the most pleasant and creative moment is to choose the name of the network (SSID) and come up with a password for it (Pre-Shared Key). Please note that it must have at least 8 Latin characters to be considered secure. All that remains is to indicate in the Authentication Type column - WPA-PSK. And in the Encryption section - TKIP.
  • We save the data, and your router should work! We check the availability of a wireless network through a phone or laptop and rejoice!

If during setup you mistakenly specified incorrect parameters, then click the Reset button, which is located on the router itself. After resetting all settings to factory default, try again. If you can't configure it manually, don't despair. Your Internet operator’s technical support specialist can always do this for you.
