Apple has sent out invitations to an event on September 12, where it is expected to unveil new additions to its iPhone lineup.
In typical mysterious Apple style provided scant clues in the invitation that the presentation would take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on its Space Shuttle campus in the Silicon Valley city of Cupertino.
The invitations included the words “Gather Together” under a large gold circle.
Speculation includes talk of Apple unveiling three new iPhone models, adding some of the features from the premium iPhone X, which debuted last year with a thousand-dollar price tag.
The only thing left to announce is the date of the iPhone announcement itself. Apple sent out invitations to its fall iPhone events at the end of August. But given that it's still a week or two away, we'll still have to wait a little while before we find out when Apple will unveil its new line 2018.
However, we will all take a risk and try to predict the date ourselves. Based on previous event dates, the consensus is that Apple likely has something planned during the first two weeks of September, either Tuesday or Wednesday. Almost every iPhone announcement over the past decade has met these criteria.

Apple historically holds September events to showcase new iPhone models, and the company is expected to stay true to that pattern this year. What will the company surprise us with in 2018?
iPhone XS
There are rumors that the successor to the Apple iPhone X will be called the iPhone XS. There are no surprises, although apparently Apple wasn't entirely convinced by the name, because XS could either mean another smaller version of the outgoing model, or an excess in numbers.
