Description of the parts of the smartphone htc one m7. HTC One M7 - Specifications

1. Positioning the device

Company affairs HTC Lately things have been going, to put it mildly, poorly. Release of very unsuccessful (compared to competitors) models One X And One X+ did not strengthen the company's position in the global market. The Taiwanese manufacturer, once the leader in the smart phone segment, is losing popularity every year, due to which its main competitors are strengthening their position HTC - Apple, Samsung And Sony.

After the release of the above-mentioned smartphones, the manufacturer did not offer any decent models on the market. The only exception was the smartphone HTC Butterfly, which did not receive support from users due to the high price, small amount of built-in memory without the possibility of expanding it, as well as a glossy, easily soiled, not very reliable case.

Essentially, the company needed one single smartphone that would return it to its former position, a model that would be as popular as the line Galaxy S from Samsung or Apple iPhone 5 , and more popular than the successful smartphone from Sony - Xperia Z. The Taiwanese decided to simply name the new flagship - One, without letter prefixes.

In essence, this should mean the completeness of the line, its technological “pinnacle”, and all the best that was in the smartphones of the line should be embodied in the new product. And, in addition, the new model should be free of the shortcomings that were present in the old models. Let's see if the smartphone turned out well HTC One a fundamentally new model, and what the Taiwanese manufacturer was able to offer us.

To the newly made flagship on Android is great The addition will be a fitness bracelet and a sefli stick, which you can choose and buy on our website.

2. Design, design features, assembly, case materials, control elements

The first thing you feel when you pick it up HTC One- these are the materials of the case. The developers used in the new product new way case manufacturing - it is almost entirely made of metal.

Unlike other devices with a metal body, HTC One There are almost no plastic elements - when you pick up the smartphone, you will only feel the pleasant coolness of the metal and glass that covers the front surface of the device. The model feels and looks unusual. Before release of this smartphone Devices with an all-metal body did not exist in principle. Since metal shields radio waves, manufacturers had to build electronic devices body parts made of plastic/glass. To avoid this, the company HTC took a fundamentally new path. All antennas and transmitters that are present in the smartphone are placed outside - for this purpose, special grooves are machined into the all-metal body of the device.

Antennas, microphones and transmitters located in the grooves are carefully filled with a special composite that transmits radio waves. The side edges of the smartphone are also covered with this composite; this solution prevents the smartphone from slipping in the hands and on various surfaces. The practicality of such a solution will only be shown by time and operating experience, but at the moment we can say that this case manufacturing technology has no analogues on the market and, at the very least, is very interesting.

Externally, the device looks very stylish. The design of the smartphone is universal and will be appropriate both in the hands of a respectable business person and in the hands of a young man leading an active lifestyle. The model is suitable for both men and women.

The designers tried to create a smartphone that everyone without exception will appreciate, and in terms of design they succeeded very well. Thanks to the design features, the body of the new smartphone is monolithic. Nothing creaks, doesn’t play, and, what’s more, doesn’t fall off. We can say that according to this parameter HTC One - best smartphone on the market.

However, there are also disadvantages in the design of the device, and they do not relate to the shortcomings of the developers - this is a feature of the metal. If your smartphone is accidentally bumped or dropped, the metal casing may bend, and, unlike plastic, it is not as practical. In addition, metal does not absorb shock so well, therefore, in order to keep the smartphone body safe and sound and protect its internal microcircuits from damage, you need to put it in a protective case.

HTC One Quite heavy - 143g - but its heaviness is justified by the aluminum body. The model is slightly heavier than Samsung Galaxy S4(130g), but slightly lighter than Sony Xperia Z(146g) . The weight of the smartphone does not cause any discomfort, and its heaviness, coupled with the metal of the case, creates the impression of a solid, expensive thing, in contrast to the same Galaxy S4, which does not create such an impression.

On the front surface of the new flagship from HTC There are two stereo speakers - above and below the display. As for a mobile device, the speakers produce amazing stereo sound, and you can even feel low frequencies. The sound impression from the external speakers of a smartphone is comparable only to the stereo speakers of the legendary phone Motorola E398, and in terms of output sound quality, the new product is even somewhat ahead of the American device.

But the ergonomics of the smartphone are by no means ideal, and, first of all, this concerns the lock key. Not only is the key located on top - many users complained about this location - but it is also shifted to the left. Because of this, it is very inconvenient to use, given the dimensions of the device ( 137.4x68.2x9.3mm ).

It also causes inconvenience volume key, which is flush with the device body. Aesthetically, this is the right decision, but due to the lack of a clear path, it is very inconvenient to use, and besides, it is very difficult to find it blindly. Also puzzling is the block of touch keys located under the device’s screen. It lacks the usual “menu” button; it is replaced by the logo of the manufacturer. On either side of it there are buttons “back” and “home”.

List open applications Now you can call it by double-tapping the home button - it’s inconvenient, but you can get used to it. It seems that the ergonomics of the device are completely given over to the design, which is disappointing. Although the ergonomics of the device are not so bad - for example, the cable input is well located microUSB- from below, with a shift to the right, and microSIM the card is now inserted into a special tray, as in iPhone- it's very convenient.

The smartphone is available in two colors - silver And black. It should be noted that fingerprints are more visible on the black version of the smartphone; this problem can only be solved by a special protective film with oleophobic coating.

3. Screen

The screen of the device does not disappoint at all and is worthy of all praise. The display is built using technology Super LCD 3, diagonal - 4.7" with an amazing pixel density - 468 ppi!

This is full-format FullHD 1920x1980 pixels. The picture quality is simply amazing, the display HTC One can safely be called the best on the market. It's interesting that technology multitouch new items can process up to 10 simultaneous touches, although this requires enabling the appropriate option in the menu.

IPS matrix The device provides an excellent viewing angle and excellent color rendition. The screen behaves perfectly in the sun, outperforming iPhone 5, so do Samsung Galaxy S4. This feature will be appreciated by everyone - including car enthusiasts who do not have the opportunity to constantly adjust the viewing angle of a smartphone installed in a special car holder.

The touchscreen of the device is very responsive, responding well to both finger touch and touch with a capacitive stylus. The display of the new HTC flagship is covered protective glass Gorilla Glass 2, this glass is very scratch resistant. An oleophobic coating is applied to the surface of the glass, which reduces the possibility of fingerprints. In essence, fingerprints still appear on the front surface of the smartphone, but not as abundantly as in other models.

4. Performance, OS, autonomy, connection quality, communications

Smartphone HTC One built on a quad-core chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, consisting of a processor Krait With clock frequency 1.7GHz and Adreno 320 graphics coprocessor. The new product has 2GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of internal memory; there is no slot for memory cards.

The device works very smoothly, without slowdowns, unlike the same Galaxy S4, which works in barely noticeable jerks even when rendering the interface. The model is running OS Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, also present branded shell from HTC - Sense 5.0. Compared to the previous version, the shell has been seriously redesigned. Many controls - for example, the weather widget - have lost their animation, but overall the updated shell leaves a pleasant impression. The most noticeable thing in the changed interface was the built-in service BlinkFeed. The service is a kind of widget, a “feed” of constantly updated news. The manufacturer indicates a figure of 1,400 sources from which news arrives on the company’s servers HTC, and from them are broadcast to the BlinkFeed feed.

An undeniable advantage of this system is the ability to edit sections from which the user wants to receive news, you can turn off the broadcast of unnecessary news, and organize incoming information.

However, the user can only receive news from those sources that are available in the company's database HTC, you cannot add your sources to the BlinkFeed feed. Transceiver cellular signal HTC One works stably without any glitches. The quality of speech transmission and reception is at a high level; there are no complaints about the device regarding the quality of communication.

The smartphone supports a full package of wireless communications: Wi-Fi a/ac/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC and LTE. There is also the ability to connect to a smartphone external storage Through a special adapter, the drive is recognized by the device as a separate data storage, and it is very convenient to work with it.

The battery capacity of the new product is 2300 mAh, which is not too much for today. However, due to the energy-saving chipset, the device is able to work at high loads for about a day - the good news is that the device will not need to be charged after several hours of active use.

5. Camera, multimedia capabilities

Camera HTC One- the most controversial component of a smartphone. The resolution of the main module of the built-in camera has a resolution 4MP, but such a low resolution is due to the fact that the camera matrix uses ultrapixel technology. The technology lies in the fact that each pixel is increased from the standard 1.4 microns to 2 microns with a physical matrix size of 1/3”.

Pixels absorb more light compared to their analogues, which, in theory, should have a positive effect on the quality of the resulting photographs. In reality, the situation is not so encouraging. The main problem with the camera is HTC One- this is the detail of the images, it is lower than that of the main competitors of the model - Apple iPhone 5, Sony Xperia Z And Samsung Galaxy S4. Photos turn out quite grainy, this is especially noticeable when photographing clearly defined objects, such as buildings.

Color rendition is also not ideal - in daylight, the camera of the new product “overwhelms” light colors, which merge with each other at the output. Perhaps these problems are software problems and will be fixed in future firmware versions. Otherwise, there are no complaints about the camera, HTC One shows natural color reproduction, the pictures are not too bright or faded. Mode HDR works well, better than competing devices. There is also a branded Zoe technology, which allows you to take several pictures at once when taking photographs, and then “glue” them together into a kind of micro-video, animation. This is very convenient for shooting moving objects. The only thing that is puzzling is why the developers gave their own name to the technology, which is present in all top smartphones. In general, at the moment the device's camera is ideal for shooting objects that do not require excessive detail - for example, documents.

As already mentioned, the company's flagship HTC features high-quality external stereo speakers. But demanding music lovers will listen to music on this device without any pleasure. Despite the built-in technology Beats Audio, the device does not handle peak frequencies perfectly. When off Beats Audio Peak frequencies sound flat and rather muddy, and when turned on, low frequencies sound too bright, the bass drowns out the rest of the sound. Fine-tuning the equalizer solves the problem, but not completely. For a user who is not too demanding on sound quality, the device is quite suitable, and the smartphone copes well with the role of a “music box”.

HTC One It features support for most video formats, and when installing a third-party player, the device will have absolutely no problems playing videos. Thanks to stereo speakers, watching videos on your smartphone screen will be especially enjoyable. There is also a built-in FM radio; for it to work, you need to connect headphones, the wire of which will act as a radio antenna.

6. Comparison with competitors and general impressions of the model

Among the main competitors of the model, two can be distinguished: Samsung Galaxy S4 And Sony Xperia Z. The updated Korean smartphone came out very “crude”; it has many problems associated with defects. These are the rattling of the speaker, a “falling off” network, defective oleophobic coating, problems with displaying colors on the screen.

For now Samsung Galaxy S4 outright loses to the Taiwanese flagship, beating it only by the quality of shooting, the presence of an eight-core processor, more capacious battery and removable back cover. But the “Korean” screen, made using PenTile technology, cannot be compared with the display HTC One, this is heaven and earth. And in terms of visual and tactile sensations, a new product from HTC much higher than the competitor. U Sony Xperia Z There is one significant trump card - the protection of the smartphone from moisture, dust and splashes. However, the Japanese model is less productive, and, apart from the protected case and the presence of a card slot, it has nothing to boast of HTC One. To summarize, we can say that new flagship from a Taiwanese company HTC turned out great. The model has so many advantages and unique technologies that the disadvantages of the smartphone are poor ergonomics, not an ideal camera, not the most best sound in headphones - not very visible. But the all-metal body, excellent screen, excellent stereo speakers, powerful hardware and almost complete absence of glitches characterize the new product as the best smartphone on the market, which is very difficult to compare with. Bravo, HTC!

The previous year had seen numerous challenges and the company had to learn to work in difficult situations. Fortunately, financial difficulties don't seem to have impacted the company's ability to produce great smartphones like the HTC One.

The gadget brought interesting design solutions, an updated version of Sense UI and new camera, which gives a completely new approach to mobile photography.

HTC One comes with a standard set of accessories. The headphones are connected with an A/C adapter to use the included microUSB cable.

There is also a tool for removing the SIM card if necessary. , naturally, is not included in the kit, since the smartphone does not have a slot. Basic version The smartphone is equipped with 32 GB of internal memory, which should be more than enough for most users.

The dimensions of the device are 137.4x68.2x9.3 mm, which makes it more compact, but at the same time, thicker than the Xperia Z (139x71x7.9 mm). Of course, a smartphone has bigger screen and protection from water, but the difference in size seems quite adequate to us.

The unibody aluminum body certainly looks aesthetically superior and compares favorably with Samsung flagship. But on a smartphone South Korean company its advantages: a replaceable battery and the ability to expand memory using microSD cards.

Coming to the weight of 143 grams, we have to say that the smartphone strikes a good balance between feeling heavy in the hand and being portable.

The combination of metal and glass gives the HTC One a premium look. At first glance, you can recognize the device as an HTC device, made in accordance with the design philosophy of its predecessors, but, obviously, more modern and with an increased margin of safety.

The new product will not look out of place in a store with luxury phones, Mobiados and other similar gadgets. Even the glass-clad, stylish Sony Xperia Z can't match the compelling simplicity of the HTC.

HTC One narrower than HTC One X , which makes it easier to work with.

The front surface of the device can be divided into three parts. The massive middle section includes a screen covered with Gorilla Glass 2, with aluminum strips on both sides. At the bottom of the screen there are touch keys – “Back” and “Home”.

Long-pressing the Home button launches Google Now, and while double tap opens the task switcher. The usual “Menu” key is missing.

To fill the missing “Menu” button, you can set a long press on the “Back” button. Above the screen is front camera, as well as a speaker that performs this role during a conversation, and light and proximity sensors.

The front camera on the HTC One is almost the same as on the Butterfly - a 2.1 megapixel sensor, can shoot video with Full HD resolution and is complemented by a mode.

The new smartphone uses microSIM cards that are inserted into a slot on the left side of the smartphone. A special tool is included to remove the card.

On the right side of the smartphone there is a dual volume rocker, which is quite difficult to press as it is too flat. There is no camera shutter button, but this has become the norm now.

The microUSB port and microphone are located at the bottom. USB port has MHL support, so you can use it as an HDTV output and as a USB Host. The back of the phone features noise cancellation with a second microphone that also monitors the volume of ambient noise and adjusts everything so that the receiving party hears you loud and clear.

The top of the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a power/lock button. This button also acts as an IR emitter. There is a pre-installed application that allows you to control your TV and other equipment. After several years of oblivion, infrared ports seem to be making a comeback, but no longer as a means of data transmission.

In our opinion, placing the power button on the top of the smartphone is a bad decision, since this is one of the most difficult places to reach on gadgets with large screens.

The back of the device is an aluminum plate, divided into three parts by a thin plastic line in accordance with the division of the front surface into the screen and speakers. The noise canceling microphone is at the very top.

But the camera, which is one of the most controversial decisions of the Taiwanese company, still deserves close attention. It has a 28 mm wide angle lens with an aperture of F/2.0 and 16:09, a 4-megapixel matrix with ultrapixels. This is one of the boldest decisions since the PureView camera, but we'll talk about that later.

Performance and Software

HTC One is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, which has a 1.7 GHz quad-core Krait 300 processor, Adreno 320 graphics accelerator and 2 GB RAM. operating system– Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

Built-in memory 32 or 64 GB depending on version. It will not be possible to expand the memory, since there is no microSD slot.

We'll start evaluating the gadget's performance with the BenchmarkPi and Linpack tests, which show processor performance in single- and multi-core modes, respectively. HTC came in third in both tests, but was very close to the Galaxy S4 and Optimus Pro G, which were ahead.

Geekbench 2 is a cross-platform composite test that allows you to compare the performance of the HTC One not only with Android devices, but also with the Apple 5. Here it also took third place, but was closer to second place than to fourth.

AnTuTu evaluates a little bit of everything. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was again the winner, but this time the HTC smartphone beat out the Optimus G Pro and ended up in second place.

The Quadrant test showed similar results: the first two places were taken by the Galaxy S4 and Optimus G Pro, and the third place was taken by the HTC One.

GLBenchmark 2.5 benchmark shows performance. We are conducting tests in Full HD off-screen mode, which will allow us to evaluate the strength of the Adreno 320 found in HTC One. The result is 34 frames per second; only the Galaxy S4 with 40 frames per second was able to beat the HTC smartphone.

Another test GPU – Epic Citadel. He works in native resolution screen. Here the Taiwanese smartphone showed 56.4 frames per second and came close to the South Korean flagship with 57 frames per second. Keep in mind that both devices are capped at 60 frames per second, which means the difference is a little bigger than it seems.

Let's move on to web tests. SunSpider works with JavaScript . And here the lower the score, the better performance. However, it is known that manufacturers are trying to cheat this benchmark, so there is no need to take the situation so seriously HTC One in the middle of the table. Although, of course, there is no need to discard this.

Vellamo works with HTML 5. Smartphone here HTC performed well and took second place.

In general, HTC One showed good results. Although he did not take any first place, he was always close to the leaders. True, you can barely feel such small differences in real-world conditions.

HTC One is very well optimized and works great.

There is support for GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE, FM radio, HSPA+ and .

Screen

HTC One is equipped with a 4.7-inch touch display, made using Super LCD3 technology, with a pixel density of 469 ppi. Its resolution is 1920x1080 pixels.

Now screens have reached such a level that an increase in any parameters cannot always be seen. So, in our case, the difference, for example, between 469 ppi in HTC and 401 ppi in LG Optimus G Pro is not so easy to see.

The Taiwanese company has been installing excellent screens lately and the display in the new product is just another example of this. Contrast is certainly impressive, and viewing angles are very wide (there is no color shift, although there is a slight loss of contrast at extreme viewing angles).

The only negative is not very good readability in sunlight.

Camera

HTC One comes with a camera that is one of a kind. This is only the second smartphone with optical stabilization.

The ultra pixels used here are twice the size of the pixels in the 808 PureView and iPhone 5.

Larger pixels mean lower noise and generally better dynamic range. Also helps in low light optical stabilization image (OIS), as we saw in Nokia Lumia 920.

The sensor used in HTC One has a 1/3” diagonal with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and is installed behind a 5-element lens with an F/2.0 aperture. The camera allows you to take pictures with a resolution of 2688x1520 pixels, but when switching to the traditional 4:3 format, it limits the maximum resolution to 2048x1520 pixels, which corresponds to approximately 3 megapixels.

HTC has included a second generation ImageChip to process images captured from the camera.

The Taiwanese manufacturer continues the practice of using a single camera interface for photos and videos. We initially didn't like this very much on the One X, but the trend makes more sense here as the camera's default resolution now matches video at 16:9.

So let's get down to business. HTC One promises a lot, but what will it actually deliver? It all depends on the specific situation. When using the gadget in good lighting conditions, the low resolution takes its toll - the overall resolution is limited, although the level of detail is good.

Colors are quite decent and the image looks good when zoomed up to 100%, but we were surprised by a lot of noise. Purple halos appear, which also moves the photo away from the ideal one. Overall, we've found ultrapixel gaming to be underperforming in good lighting conditions. Almost all other high-end smartphones will take their best photos when there is enough light.

Everything changes in low light conditions. Ultra pixels and optical stabilization made it possible to get excellent shots late at night that will surpass the quality of photos taken on other high-end devices.

HTC One has HDR support for photos and videos.

At the end of the camera testing, we prepared an example of macro photography. The smartphone performed very well here, and we were able to get great pictures.

Smartphone HTC One allows you to shoot video with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels at a frequency of 30 frames per second. He has support HDR for video, but note that in this mode the frame rate drops to 28 per second. The phone also supports video recording with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels at an increased frequency of 60 frames per second.

The video is recorded in MP4 format with a bitrate of 20 Mbps - this is one of the highest rates that we had the opportunity to see. Stereo audio is recorded at a bitrate of 192 Kbps and a sampling frequency of 48 kHz.

As it turned out, video recording can be called one of the main advantages of a smartphone. The picture is very detailed with a low noise level. There are minor problems with color reproduction, but optical stabilization makes the video very good in quality.

Here is an example of Full HD video.

The smartphone has a 2.1 megapixel front camera for video communication.

Battery

One of the features of HTC One is a 2300 mAh lithium-polymer battery, which is mounted inside a metal unibody case. That is, it is non-replaceable, but the capacity is larger than in the HTC Butterfly and the same as in the Sony Xperia Z.

HTC did not provide any official time data battery life gadget. But our special battery testing showed an average result of 48 hours of operation, if you use the device for an hour a day for web browsing, video and telephony.

Price

HTC One price Russian market– 29990 rubles. This price tag has become commonplace for new flagship devices.

HTC One video review:

With this whole incomprehensible situation in the world in general and in Russia in particular, when the cost of smartphones has increased sharply and is not yet going to go down, it’s time to think about whether new smartphone. I’m now talking not so much about the condition of the device - new or used (although about this too), but about whether it is a modern smartphone or, say, a little outdated, released 2-3 years ago, but still on sale. For example, I have an HTC One M7, a very successful device for its time, which I still sometimes take out to use as a device for distributing the Internet while traveling or even as a second smartphone. And if you think about it, it could very well be used as a main phone. I suggest you take a look, or rather, even remember, how strong and weaknesses this model has, if we consider it as the basis of a smartphone for this year.

The main strength of the HTC One M7 today is its design, combined with body materials and dimensions. The device looks cool and after two years has not lost any of its originality; it is still one of the few of its kind and is easily recognizable. Moreover, it is counterfeited, copied, and various developments from the M7 design are used by other companies.

The second is brushed aluminum. The material is practical and convenient - thanks to it, the smartphone lies comfortably in the hand, does not slip out, and traces and fingerprints on the body are invisible and barely remain. Scratches - yes, they appear over time, but they don’t really spoil appearance.

In my sample, after two years of not very active use, but nevertheless, very few scratches appeared on the body, a couple of deep ones on the ribs, and the Beats logo was slightly erased - that’s all. Otherwise, the smartphone looks like a solid “B”, that is, it is perfectly preserved.

A few scratches where the front panel meets the bottom edge

Faded inscription with the Beats logo

Finally, the dimensions are what attracts me most about the HTC One M7. The device cannot be called very compact, but compared to modern flagships it is comfortable: moderately elongated, not too thin, but not too thick, and most importantly, with a good width. Due to all these parameters, holding the M7 in your hand is much more convenient than modern top-end smartphones. You can use it with one hand without any problems, but you just have to get used to the not very good location of the power button on the top edge on the left. Otherwise, in my opinion, in terms of ease of working with the device with one hand, the HTC One M7 will outperform many modern models.

In terms of technical characteristics, as was expected back then, at the beginning of 2013, the flagships of two years ago have not turned into pumpkins today. Yes, progress cannot be stopped: we constantly see new platforms, more cores, more precise technical processes, and so on, but this does not make the devices of previous years slower. The HTC One M7 has excellent operating speed; the device does not lag or slow down during daily use. Seriously, I pick up some HTC One M8 or Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and then One M7 - and I don’t see a fundamental difference in the smoothness of the interface or operation in general. It’s possible that the most hardware-demanding games may not run as fast as you’d like, but not all of us need to play such games, you’ll agree.

The operating time of the M7 is also acceptable compared to 2014 flagships. The screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in the M7 was one of the best two years ago and remains very good today: maximum viewing angles, natural color rendition, and a good amount of brightness.

Of the minuses that are critical for me personally, I can only note a weak camera: four megapixels, albeit of an increased size, today this is not always enough, let’s face it. Among the general disadvantages is the lack of a memory card slot and, probably, that’s all. I can't think of anything else critical. The smartphone has LTE, has cool and loud stereo speakers and user-friendly interface HTC Sense.

By the way, I did some digging and even found a couple of good shots from the review, taken with the weak camera of the HTC One M7 (and yes, of course, it’s macro):

But general plans are not the strength of the four-megapixel camera of the HTC One M7, alas:

Yes, the HTC One M7 does not have the highest resolution (not all flagships of late 2014 have it either), but a smartphone with a 5-6-inch screen doesn’t really need it, let alone models with screens less than five inches, which includes M7. Yes, the device does not have 3 or 4 GB of RAM and an eight-core processor, but even without this it is fast and works without problems or delays. Yes, the battery capacity here is only 2300 mAh, but this is enough for the device to survive until the evening, like any current flagship (with the exception of a couple of models). That is, in an amicable way, if you don’t know that this is a smartphone from 2013, it can be put on a par with many modern models, and HTC One M7 in this comparison is far from an outsider.

What would you like to say based on the results of this short note? If you think about it, and then look at the device, remember its shortcomings and strengths, it turns out that the HTC One M7 is still an excellent device today. If the camera in a smartphone is not of decisive importance to you, but the design, build quality, body materials, sound of external speakers, speed and just overall quality are important, the M7 looks smart choice even now, two years after the model was released. True, it’s difficult to find it on sale, but there are probably used options in good quality, if you look for it. The main idea I want to convey is that perhaps not everyone has thought about this, but it is not necessary to choose your new smartphone only among 2014 devices. In 2013, a lot of cool smartphones were released, and many of them, two years later, have not lost their advantages and strengths at all, and as for prices, if you look, devices from two years ago (meaning the release date) can easily be compared in price to current smartphones from the mid-price segment. So why limit your choice only to new models, if you can expand your review and find something very interesting and still relevant, such as the HTC One M7.

Look, isn't he handsome?

The flagship HTC ONE M7 was introduced back in 2013, when it created a lot of noise and beat out most of its competitors. The device has become key in model range manufacturer, because things weren’t going well before him in the best possible way. Conducting a review of the HTC One M7 gold in Russian, we were only convinced that this is truly a revolutionary flagship, which ensured good sales of the entire “ONE” line and the success of the brand in the global market.

We believe that the flagship remains relevant even now, especially considering the current price. The manufacturer does not follow trends, he creates them independently, and therefore the smartphone can compete even with modern devices middle price category.

HTC ONE M7 equipment

The kit includes the smartphone itself, charger, micro-USB cable, headset and documentation.

The box is made of white cardboard and has a stylish design. On its back side, as expected, are the characteristics of the gadget.

HTC ONE M7 design

The model turned out to be successful in all respects and the appearance was no exception. Navigating HTC ONE M7 dual sim review we noticed that this is one of the first phones made in a monolithic body made of solid aluminum. It was not possible to completely abandon plastic inserts, because in this case the smartphone would not receive the signal well. For this reason, there are two stripes on the back, but they do not spoil the overall style. The metal case not only had a positive effect on the durability of the gadget, but also made it possible to obtain an original design that remains relevant even to this day. The build quality deserves the highest praise.

The smartphone fits well in the hand, and the material itself is pleasant to the touch. After long-term use Fingerprints become noticeable on the glass, but thanks to the oleophobic coating they are very easy to remove. It is better to carry the HTC ONE M7 in a case, as noticeable scratches and abrasions remain on the metal surface.

The front panel has a display with what we consider to be the optimal diagonal of 4.7 inches. There are speakers at the top and bottom of the screen, the sound quality of which will satisfy any music lover. At the top you can see the selfie camera lens, indicator light and light sensor.

On the right side there is a volume rocker. It is slightly pressed into the body, which at first creates some inconvenience, but after several days of use this disadvantage no longer makes itself felt.

There is a hole on the left side to accommodate a micro-sim, but you won’t be able to open it without a special paperclip.

There is a power button on the top of the smartphone, which has an infrared port built into it, and a 3.5 jack for a headset is also located nearby.

There is only a micro-USB port on the bottom.

Performance and Features

HTC ONE M7 dual sim 32gb characteristics correspond to the level of 2013 flagships. The device uses a 4-core processor Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 1.7 GG and 2 GB RAM. The graphics are handled by the built-in Adreno 320 video module. The characteristics of the HTC ONE M7 phone allow you to enjoy smooth operation of the interface and run any games at maximum graphics settings. But the disadvantage is the inability to expand the memory by installing a memory card. 32 GB of internal memory may not seem enough to some users, because the memory quickly becomes filled with photos, music and games. The metal case gets quite hot during intense games, but everything is within normal limits.

HTC ONE M7 display

The HTC One M7 screen has become one of the key features. It had an innovative resolution at the time of its release - 1920x1080px. The picture on it looks simply amazing. All colors are saturated, and there is no distortion at any viewing angle. The overall impression is complemented by a protective coating in the form of Gorilla Glass 3. An oleophobic base is applied on top of the coating, so that virtually no fingerprints remain during use. In terms of image quality, the smartphone can be compared with Apple products. The brightness reserve is sufficient, the colors are saturated, the picture looks realistic. But of course, the powerful hardware and high resolution display had a negative impact on the autonomy of the gadget.

Autonomy

HTC ONE M7 dual sim lte The specifications include a non-removable battery with a stated capacity of 2300 mAh. With intensive use, the smartphone will have to be recharged at the end of the day, especially if you include additional navigation and communication modules. Overall this is a good result, but it could have been better.

Cameras

The HTC ONE M7 camera is a revolutionary solution, because the manufacturer decided to abandon existing standards and proposed an interesting technology of enlarged pixels that capture light better. The resolution of the main camera is 4 ultrapixels, so the pictures are high-quality and detailed. In terms of its photographic capabilities, the gadget can be compared to mid-price cameras. The benefits of larger pixels are especially noticeable at night, as even in low-light conditions, images turn out great. The only thing is that when shooting in some conditions, there is a pinkish tint in the pictures.

Conclusion

HTC ONE M7 characteristics and price are chosen perfectly, because now the smartphone can be ordered from China at a price of 9,000 rubles. For this money you get a decent device with a revolutionary camera, a gorgeous display, good battery life and characteristics. Another positive point will be the manufacturer’s proprietary shell, which is made in a simple but very comfortable style. The disadvantages include the lack of a slot for a memory card, as well as strong heating during games (but you can warm your hands in cold weather). The sound deserves special praise. When listening to music, you get the feeling that you have turned on a high-quality audio system.

After so much time, it’s already difficult to remember all the positive emotions that this device gave. But the main aspect I still want to highlight is the sound, it is deep and clear. Changing the equalizer when good headphones does not turn the sound into cacaphony. Even some headphones with relatively high impedance (for telephone systems) can open up with this smartphone. Using an iPhone now, I understand how much it lags behind the HTC ONE in terms of music, in fact, this is precisely the reason I use it now. Also an excellent screen: bright and clear. And of course the appearance. It was beautiful then, but now, in a time of similar “iPhone” devices, it naturally stands out.

Good, stylish smart. Everything about it is at the highest level! The most important thing is that this phone is for smart people, not for primitives, but for those who have gray matter in their heads.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I came across a pretty high-quality item. I bought it from my guy second hand. It's been around for two years now, I've been using it for a year and a half. The advantages of this model include: 1. Housing. The good old aluminum body is better than the new glass phones. Don't lie this phone I dropped it 6-7 times, and after such falls there were small scratches and barely noticeable dents. 2. A 1.7 processor with 4 cores and 2 gigs of RAM flies this way. There are practically no glitches and freezes, but they occur very rarely. 3. The screen is very bright, the clarity is off the charts, the pixels can only be seen under a magnifying glass. 4. Beatsaudio is a cool thing for headphones, here it is consistently 4+. But before that I had an HTC One S, the sound was a little better. And even before that there was a Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150, there was absolutely nothing without this thing

Very beautiful, durable, works very quickly, supports many programs, for example, I can open documents, edit them, although many say that this is only accessible through a computer. The music is great. The phone falls very often and is not broken, the screen is intact, considering that it hits the asphalt every day by accident, of course... but the screen feels like it would still be intact even with a sledgehammer!

A strong phone, it was able to survive me (it was difficult, believe me) - Excellent quality screen. As in 2013, so now. -Optimized HTC Sence, and it’s also very convenient to modify it to suit yourself. -It also works in applications, the same values in benchmarks as from the purchase itself (except for the battery) -The case itself is not only beautiful, but also comfortable, that is, it fits perfectly in the hand and does not tend to fly out. -LTE is still good, Wi-Fi is still stable.

I've been using the device for four years now and it works perfectly. The battery lasts at least a day, although I keep the charge from 30% to 80%. That is, 50% per day with the net and waffles always on.

screen, body, design, sound, camera, "zoe", battery

The battery cannot be easily repaired and changed; there are few mega pixels, no 2 SIM cards, no memory card. Glitchy camera.

Actually, the disadvantages follow from the advantages, due to a weak battery. The operating time has always suffered and is suffering now, although I use it as a player. But maybe it’s due to the battery being worn out to some extent, because I didn’t change it.

There is no back button, but this can be solved by double tapping on the house

    1. Non-removable battery- glitched several times during the game. I had to wait until the battery 2 was completely discharged. In games it just got hot like hell, which is why it started to glitch. 3. The cord is not particularly durable, it bends just like the Chinese counterparts. Due to this, you cannot synchronize with your computer. 4. There is no slot for a memory card 5. Just a terrible update, in which the sidebar simply did not open, I had to roll back the entire system.

Quiet sound speakers. One speaker wheezes a little at high power. If you charge the battery and do not use the phone for a day, then on the second day of use the battery sag a little, that is, it runs out 1.5 times faster (even though there will be the same percentage of charge, for example 90%).

The camera, shortly after the purchase, it turned pink, in daylight everything is fine, but in low light everything is fine(((now the pictures are not clear... You have to wait to catch the focus, and it doesn’t always work, maybe this is due to falls. .. +charging... The original one broke, others don’t hold it well, my husband bought a Samsung, even his charger stopped working after a month, that is, mine doesn’t work.... And if the original one, it charges very quickly.

I will write year by year how the situation worsened. When I purchased it, everything seemed perfect to me, because I was 16 years old and I received my first Android, “woohoo,” were my reviews. :) But there was still one drawback: -Weak speaker volume. Compared to other phones, it sounds quiet. After 1 year: Honestly speaking, in the first year I had only one drawback: -In all games, on unknown programs, it heated up to 70 degrees, but after that I stopped using it in powerful games(for this, I personally think it’s worth buying a PC or at least a Console, but my opinion doesn’t really matter to anyone here), the camera was still normal. -In summer, charging temperature reaches 55 degrees. Hot body. At this point, due to the owner’s crookedness, the appearance of the phone began to deteriorate: scratches on the body, on the screen
