Call Waiting service from Beeline: how to set up a second line and call hold? How to set up a second line on your phone How to set up a second line on Samsung.

When we talk on a mobile phone, other subscribers trying to call us are forced to wait until the busy line is free. At the same time, few people know that all Russian operators support such quite common functionality as a second line. This functionality is provided by the MTS operator with the Call Waiting and Holding service. How to connect a second line to MTS and what is needed for this?

The second line is the opportunity not to lose two simultaneous calls. For example, you are talking with relatives and waiting for a work call. When this call arrives, you will hear a characteristic beeping sound in the handset and will be able to accept the second incoming call, leaving the first call on hold. The same applies to outgoing calls - while talking to one subscriber, you can put him on hold and call another subscriber.

In this review, we will look in detail at how the “Call Waiting and Holding” service works, which offers us a second line on MTS.

Having a second line will allow us not to miss an important call when making an ongoing call. In this case, the second caller the subscriber will not hear hang-up signals, but an offer to wait until the called party can accept the call. At this time, the called subscriber will hear a “beeping” signal on his phone, notifying him of another incoming call. Upon hearing the second incoming call signal, the caller can do the following:

  • Continue the current conversation, ignoring the second incoming call;
  • Press the number 2 and the green key, accepting the second call and leaving the first caller on hold;
  • Press the number 1 and the green key, accepting the second call and completely ending the first call;
  • Press the number 0 and the green key - the second call will be dropped, and the current conversation will be continued.

All these actions can be performed without number keys, using the functionality of your mobile phone.

Second line support, as well as hold functions for ongoing calls, are available in all modern mobile phones and smartphones. Moreover, it is impossible to accept the third incoming call - this subscriber will hear a busy signal.

By the way, having a second line allows you not only to receive additional incoming calls, but also to make outgoing calls - for this you can right in the middle of a conversation with the current subscriber, dial the desired number and press the call button. After this, the current call will be placed on hold, and we will be able to call another subscriber.

As for charging, it all depends on the direction of the current and held calls. Both incoming calls will be free, and both outgoing calls will be charged according to the direction of calls, for example, intercity calls within Russia and local outgoing rates. When you are in intranet, national or international roaming, tariffs will correspond to the roaming tariff schedule for a particular direction.

If necessary, they can connect a second line to MTS all subscribers, regardless of tariff plan. To do this, dial a simple USSD command *43# on your mobile phone. The same command checks the status of the “Call Waiting and Holding” service, which provides second line functionality.

How to set up a second line on MTS through the phone menu

Many mobile phones, including older ones, allow you to connect a second line through the call settings menu. Find this menu, check the status of the service through it, and then connect it. The MTS Called You service will allow you to not miss an important call when your phone was unavailable, thanks to which you can get all the information about missed calls.

How to disable the second MTS line

Disabling the second line on MTS is done via the USSD command *43# or through the corresponding mobile phone menu.

For subscribers who connected after March 13, 2009, the “Call Waiting and Hold” service was activated automatically. If you connected to the MTS network before this date, activate the second line yourself using the tools presented in the review.

MTS offers very convenient and interesting tariff plans and services that allow you to make the most of your mobile device. Many standard options are installed on all new SIM cards by default; they are designed to create conditions for comfortable communication and correspondence. One such application is call waiting. Now you can receive several calls at the same time without fear of missing an important call. Today we will learn how to connect a second MTS line to a SIM card if for some reason it is missing.

Call Waiting/Hold Service Description

This unique option allows subscribers to receive incoming calls even while they are actually talking. For example, you are talking to your interlocutor, and if another contact calls you at the same time, you will hear a characteristic alert tone. Your further actions can unfold according to several scenarios. You can accept a new incoming while finishing or holding the old one, or reset it, and much more. We will describe this in more detail in the next part of the article.

At the moment, all modern mobile devices are capable of supporting such functionality. The service is fully compatible with all current provider tariff plans. The cost of such communication is charged according to the established contract, in the standard mode without changes. The option is completely free for all MTS consumers.

Another interesting property. You can freely manage incoming calls during a conversation, and you can also make an outgoing call without disconnecting from the conversation with the interlocutor, and a hold will occur. It all depends on the waiting customer at the other end of the line whether he wants to wait or not.

Service management

Let's proceed to a direct analysis of the capabilities of the second line. There are several restrictions on its use:

  1. You are only allowed to receive two incoming messages at a time. The third call will be dropped, the line will be busy for it, and nothing can be done.
  2. When connecting to service short telephone numbers, it is impossible to connect a second line.

So, when you are communicating with your interlocutor and another call comes in, your next steps may be as follows:

  1. Ignore the alert and continue the conversation with one interlocutor. Disable the second line.
  2. Press the 0 button and the call button. The incoming message will be rejected.
  3. 1 + challenge. The ongoing conversation will stop and the line will open for the incoming call.
  4. 2 + challenge. The first subscriber will remain on the line, and you will start communicating with the second.
  5. N+ call. Holds all active conversations and allows you to make an outgoing call.

Each mobile device of a different model has its own special menu. Just look at the display, especially on touch terminals, detailed instructions for further actions will appear.

How to connect and disconnect

Earlier it was said that this service is automatically installed on all SIM cards and is supplied in the starter kit. But this only applies to contracts that were executed after March 13, 2009. If you entered into a contract much earlier than this date, you will most likely have to activate the option. To find out what state the function is currently in, dial the short code USSD*#43# . After this, detailed information about the status of the application will be displayed on your screen. Make a connection if necessary. For this:

  1. Enter the USSD combination in the telesystem call menu - *43#. The service immediately becomes active.
  2. Register and initialize under your account in the user’s personal account service. Once in the main menu, you will see information about the current state of your mobile balance, remaining minutes and traffic. In this web interface you can install and disable any options, subscriptions and tariff plans. Just go to the services tab and find what you are looking for in the list. Click on it and run it. Everything is quite simple, all you need is Internet access.
  3. Download and install the official MTS application, it works great on any modern cell phone and does not require payment. This is a compact version of your personal account. Here you can also connect the second line. But download installation files only from trusted resources to avoid infecting your smartphone with viruses.
  4. Contact the manager of any service branch in your locality. Such offices are easy to find by their bright windows and red logo. They are located in almost every city in Russia.
  5. Call the hotline and ask the operator to enable the option on your SIM card. If you do not need this function, disable it using similar methods as when connecting, or enter the USSD request #43#.

Second line settings through the phone menu

In the parameters and settings of almost all modern mobile devices, protection is a special button that can switch the second line activity mode. If, of course, you have connected the service itself from the operator. To operate this function, follow the instructions:

  1. Find the gear-shaped icon on the screen of your smartphone; this is usually how settings are displayed.
  2. In the menu that appears, find the calls tab.
  3. Then click on the advanced options button.
  4. A list of functions will appear, among them there should be a call waiting item.
  5. You can move the slider to the active state or deactivate it.

Each mobile phone manufacturer is free to develop a unique menu. Therefore, this procedure may differ on different brands of devices. If the option does not work, your cell phone may be faulty. If you encounter connection problems, check with your provider for solutions.

Most people require from mobile operators not only a convenient and profitable tariff, but also other additional points regarding the convenience of their communication. One of the most popular services is the second line. Many mobile operators have this function enabled automatically, but owners of Tele2 SIM cards are given the opportunity to decide for themselves whether they need this option or not. For the category of people who need it, connecting a second line to Tele2 will not be difficult.

Hold/Call Waiting Option

Hold or wait is a very useful option of the mobile operator. Sometimes a person himself is not aware of the need to connect it. What is the essence of this conversation assistant?

The second line service of the Tele2 mobile operator allows you not only to be aware of incoming calls while talking to a specific subscriber, but also to be able to talk to two subscribers at the same time.

If you hear a beep during a call indicating an incoming call, you must either accept or reject the incoming call. Once accepted, the first person you were talking to is placed on hold until the conversation is resumed. At this time, the conversation is with another person.

What other options does the option provide?

  • Ignoring an incoming call during an ongoing conversation;
  • Merging two calls (to do this you will need to press a button on your mobile device, usually “connect”, may differ on different models);
  • Ability to switch from one conversation to another;
  • Make an outgoing call without rejecting the conversation with the person, but leaving him on hold.

In order to make an outgoing call, there are two route options:

  1. In the background, dial the desired phone number and press the call button;
  2. Select the required phone number in the phone book and call it.

After these steps, the first call is put on hold, and the conversation with the outgoing callee continues. The ability to merge conversations also remains.

A second line is connected to Tele2 at any current tariff; you can connect it yourself or by calling your mobile operator. The ability to connect also exists for corporate clients, which allows them to resolve important service issues without delay.

The cost of connecting to the service is completely free. If this option is not relevant for the client, it is also disabled at no additional cost. There is no subscription fee.

How to connect a second line to Tele2 yourself is described in detail in the next title of the article.

Connecting and disconnecting the service

It is very simple to connect a second line to Tele2 without resorting to the help of an operator. To do this, you need to dial the following combination of numbers on your mobile phone: *43#. The command on how to connect a second line on Tele2 is ready, now it needs to be sent by pressing the call key. After simple steps, an SMS message is sent to your phone number notifying you about the status of the service. In this case, you should receive a connection confirmation.

How to make a second line on Tele2 is explained, but how to turn it off if it is not needed? You need to do everything the same, but the command to send will be as follows: #43#. After which the client receives an SMS confirming that the service has been disabled.

There is another option to enable or disable the option. To do this, you need to go to the phone menu, then follow the algorithm:

Settings – Call settings – Call waiting service – Enable/Disable.

The item names may be changed for each mobile phone model. But do not forget that older phone models may not have such menu items at all.

Activating or removing the presence of the option will not make it difficult for mobile operator subscribers.

The mobile operator Tele2 has its own call holding service, the so-called “Second Line”.

Call hold (Second line) is the ability to use several incoming lines without dropping the call. A special sound signal will notify you of a new call.

How to hold the second line

The retention process takes place in 2 stages:

  1. Waiting is the stage of making a decision about a call coming to the second line. Several short calls indicate that during the conversation, there was another incoming call.
  2. Hold - the stage of transition from an active conversation to the second line without interrupting the connection with the first incoming call, entering a command for further actions.

Teams are divided into:

  1. Button "0" - Rejects the second incoming call.
  2. Button "1" - Answers the second incoming call and disconnects the first (call reset).
  3. Button "2" - Answers the second incoming call and turns on the hold function for the first call. The “2” button also serves as a reverse switch between subscribers or sessions.

After entering any of the commands, you should activate it by pressing the call button.

While waiting, pleasant music is played to the subscriber.

Until recently, this feature was enabled automatically after you inserted and activated the SIM card.

Now whether to enable or disable this feature is decided by the subscriber himself. To activate the service, you need to contact the company’s office or select an item in the phone menu related to this service. The service is free upon activation and does not require additional financial investments. The service is convenient when there is a large volume of incoming calls, in order to prioritize responses to these calls.

You can manage calls not only using the number keys, but also using the phone itself. All modern and even outdated phones support second line control by pressing control keys– when accepting the second call, appropriate prompts will be displayed on the screen. As already mentioned, the second line on Beeline is provided completely free of charge.
