I had 20 at my disposal various programs, which were subjected to various types of testing. Most of the software is free, but there were also paid ones. I didn’t check the paid ones because they all weigh more than they should with such functionality. Loading various skins slows down the launch, etc. Moreover, the functionality in free analogues plenty of it.

The program has not been updated for a long time, but it still works perfectly on all windows platforms (win7, win8, win10, XP, vista) and is easy to use. After downloading the archive to your desktop, you need to unpack it into a directory convenient for you on your laptop or desktop PC.

In the root folder of the utility double click open the file Machy.exe. After the first greeting and clicking the “OK” button, this software will automatically minimize to the tray, lower right corner of the screen. To expand it, simply double-click on it, then, when the program window opens, in the lower left corner of the utility, click on “Settings”.

On the first “General” tab, uncheck just one checkbox “Run program\Document” and don’t touch anything else if you definitely don’t need anything from the basic parameters of the program’s tasks there. By default, the desktop reminder calendar in Russian will launch automatically when the Windows operating system starts.

A built-in organizer is an essential part of any Linux distribution, but not Windows. Why, isn't it Windows users an organizer is not required or the Microsoft OS is not considered a “working” product?

Before you start understanding the functionality of EssentialPIM, you should set necessary settings. This is done from the “Service” – “Settings…” menu. On the tab general settings Check the "Minimize to tray" and "Start with windows" options. In the autosave tab, you can check the box to save the entered information after a certain period of time. Although, it seems to me that the option to save when minimized to tray is preferable.

Next is the archive settings tab. Here you can choose one of three options. The best option, in my opinion, is the first one – archiving in the database folder. At least in this case you will be able to work from a flash drive.

I won’t impose hotkeys, it depends on personal preferences. But I will describe the order of changes. Select the desired option and set your hotkeys in the small field at the bottom of the window. Keys are specified by pressing them.

In the "spelling" tab, the necessary checkboxes are checked by default. The only thing I can recommend here is to add a Russian dictionary to the installed ones. You can download it using the link “download dictionaries” provided there. After downloading the dictionary, unzip it into the folder with the EssentialPIMPort5/Dict program.

"Modules" tab. Here you can mark which modules should be displayed in the program window and change their order.

Setting up the modules themselves is again based on personal preferences. I can only advise that in the “protection” tab, check the “Block databases when collapsing…” option.

Create a new task.

To create a new task, click on the “new task” parameter in the “actions” window and in the window that opens, set the required time values, priority, category, and if a reminder is required.

And, of course, don’t forget to give a name to the topic of the task and describe it in the “notes” field.

Creating a “new case” is similar to creating a new task.

But creating a new note is different. Click on the "Notes" option and create a new or edit an old note.

As you can see, the editor himself is in no way inferior to most text editors, even supports text formatting. The notes themselves are located in special folders, which again can be edited, created or deleted.

Contacts

New contact added from the "Actions" - "New Contact" menu. You can enter not only personal data into a contact, but also work data, as well as upload a picture corresponding to the contact.

Mail tab. As in any mail program You need to add your mailbox to the organizer.

This is done in the menu “Tools” – “Mailboxes” – “Add”. After adding mailbox creating a new letter through the "Actions" menu.

And the last important tab is “Passwords”. A tab where you can save passwords for your website accounts.

The window for adding a new password is called up through the menu “Actions” – “New password entry”. As you can see from the screenshot, the site name, login, password and URL are entered into the fields. It's nice that the password can be generated by the program itself. Generation settings and the number of characters can be changed by clicking on the "Generate" button.
