To install the extension we need, we’ll go to the store google extensions chrome.
To do this, open the browser menu in the upper right corner, and then point to the line “ Additional tools" and in the submenu that appears, click "Extensions". You can get there by simply copying the address: chrome://extensions/ and pasting it into the address bar.
In the newly opened tab on the left side you need to enter search query, in this case we will write “Easy auto refresh”. Now notice on the right side of search window the extensions we need will appear. In this case, for this request, the store offers us 3 extensions. Now we will look at them in order.
Let's start with the top one “Easy auto refresh”. We click install, after which an installation confirmation appears in the middle of the window, with which we agree.
When the installation process is finished, the browser will take you to the developer page, where you will be asked to register and buy a personal license, which you can cancel by simply closing the tab. In this extension, purchasing a license is required to additional features, which we will talk about below.
Now, to activate auto-refresh of pages, click on the icon in the upper right corner of the browser. A small window will open in which you can set the time interval for the page to be updated, and, accordingly, enable or disable auto-update.
When you click on the “Start” button, the icon will change its color, and the time countdown in seconds will be shown inside it. In the free version, the countdown is shown only from 9 seconds.
There is also an “Advanced Options” button, when clicked, a list with advanced settings that are available only to a registered user who has paid for a license will open.
—Any page on google.com – This option allows you to configure auto-refresh to a specific page by URL.
—Random interval – By enabling this option, the update countdown time will change randomly.
—Clear Cache – After each update, the browser cache will be cleared.
—Show longer countdown – Allows you to see a longer countdown in the icon. At free use The countdown is 9 seconds.
—Show notification – Refreshing the page indicates that something new is expected on this page. If you know what should appear, then enable this option and write the expected keyword"Easy auto refresh" will show you a notification at the time this word appears on the site.
—Refresh all tabs—This option allows you to refresh all tabs in the browser at the same time.
—Refresh by clicking link or button– This option allows you to update the site by clicking the update button (if the site has one). By enabling this option, you need to specify the tag of the button that will subsequently be automatically pressed.
—Refresh to url from a list – This function allows you to add several URLs (one per line), and the pages will be refreshed one by one according to this list.
As you can see, this extension has quite extensive capabilities, but only if you buy a license.
The next extension is called “Super auto refresh”. We install it in the same way as the first one.
Now click on the icon. Everything is quite simpler here. The time interval is already specified and you can only select a value from the list.
While waiting for an update, the seconds are not displayed. The update only applies to the open tab.
Now the third extension is “Page auto refresher”.
I liked it more than others (if you count free versions). Here you can set the value you need in seconds. If you want all tabs to be updated at once, then check the Check it for all tabs box.
In this extension, the countdown is shown entirely in the icon (unlike easy auto refresh), which is more convenient with a larger interval (I tested up to 150 seconds - it shows).

It took me just minutes to set up.
Initial actions
To begin, in a running browser, go to the “tools” section and select the “add-ons” item.
We will need them to expand the capabilities of the program. To find add-ons, you have two options:
- search bar in the tab that opens;
- by searching the site, which can be accessed by clicking the “more details” button.
Configuring reload for each tab.
This means that both add-ons allow you to configure the refresh time interval for specific tabs individually. If desired, you can install it for everyone. Is this functionality convenient for you? I really liked it.
ReloadEvery to automatically refresh pages
For Firefox, it is installed using the built-in functionality. I will demonstrate it in the screenshot below.
Click “install”, wait for the process to complete and prompt you to restart Firefox. Reboot and start using the new features.
You can set up automatic ReloadEvery updates for selected or all pages. The necessary parameters can be seen by calling the context menu on the page by right-clicking.
As you can see, the settings are extremely simple and straightforward.

Auto-update in Mozilla Firefox
Flexible and easily customizable browser. The browser itself does not have a built-in page auto-refresh function, but it can be done using extensions. Go to the browser menu, look for “add-ons”, then enter ReloadEvery in the search and install it. The browser will install itself and ask you to restart.
When the extension has become fully functional, you can configure auto-refresh of the page. To do this, click right click mouse on the desired tab, select “auto-update” in the drop-down menu, specify the desired interval and click “enable”.
Auto-update in Opera
Older versions of this browser have a built-in page auto-refresh function, but the new version does not provide such a function. If you have an old version of the browser, then simply right-click on the desired tab in the browser and in the menu that appears, select “auto-update” or “reload every”, then make all the necessary settings and enable auto-update.
If you have Opera new version, then rollback to old version not worth it. For automatic page updates to become available in your version, you need to go to the official browser extensions directory (follow this link https://addons.opera.com/ru). After a few seconds, you will see this cyclic arrow icon in the upper right corner, click on it and the auto refresh chrome extension will open and you will have a timer in seconds and two Start and Stop buttons. We set the required time and launch it.

The second similar extension is called Auto refresh. You can also find it in the Google store.
Click install Auto refresh.

Automatic page refresh in opera
Earlier opera browser was my favorite, but it died on version 12.17, and after that it turned into a complete mess. It used to have built-in functionality under the hood for auto-updating pages, it looked like this. Automatic page refresh in Mozilla Firefox
Well, let’s consider automatic page refresh in the Mozilla Firefox browser, we won’t offend the little fox. As with the previous versions, there are no built-in functions, but there are also extensions that we will use. This plugin is called ReloadEvery.
To install it, click the Mozilla Firefox settings button > Add-ons
In the search bar, enter ReloadEvery, and then install.
While browsing the web on the internet, we come across a certain web page that needs to be updated from time to time as it is updated on a regular basis, it could be a page for sports updates, events, news, etc. Manually updating these web pages is quite a time-consuming task when it must be done on a regular basis and over several pages. This process can be easily automated in Google Chrome using an extension Auto Refresh Plus.
The extension is a handy extension for users who use the F5 key to refresh web pages regularly. Auto Refresh Plus is a small Chrome extension that can automatically refresh selected web pages. It is easy to use and can be found near address bar. To refresh the web page you can choose from predefined time intervals or you can enter the time interval manually. You can switch to other tabs to continue browsing the web without having to worry about manually refreshing the selected tab.

If the extension detects content on the page it will stop and automatically refresh the page. But to our great regret, the author removed the extension Auto Refresh Plus for Google Chrome, but you can install extension Chrome Reolad - you can install it like all others extensions downloaded from the Chrome online store. Then go to Tools and click Extensions.
