Instructions: how to make sure that everything is saved to a memory card. Service Center Lenovo

Hello! Recently, a friend encountered a memory problem on his device. The next time he tried to download an application or game from the "Play Store", he constantly received an error. He told me that his tablet does not write enough memory during the download process from the Google Play service. After that, he asked me a perfectly reasonable question: “Why is this happening and how to get rid of this obsessive mistake?”. And he sadly added that on the Internet, many advise rebooting the device or resetting to factory settings. In general, the essence of the problem is clear - we will understand.

There may be several reasons for this behavior on a tablet or smartphone. I think you understand that for the interaction and operation of the hardware and software, a part of the internal memory is given to the device for storing temporary and system files. As a rule, budget models do not please the owner with large volumes of internal memory and on average I have from 4 to 8 Gigabytes in my arsenal. As a result, the declared volumes remain even less. This internal range is changing every year for budget models, due to the general progress in the field of IT-technologies.

However, the problem remains unsolved due to the parallel development of applications and software in general. The operating system becomes more perfect, applications are constantly being developed and new ones are written, and in the end, everything affects the amount of memory. Rather, on its insufficient internal volume. It is difficult to blame more expensive tablet / smartphone models for a small amount of memory (128 or more Gigabytes), but even here a similar problem sometimes arises.

I must say that in the Android operating system, the / data folder is responsible for the memory area, where the developers by default give it only 500 megabytes. As you know, part of the internal memory in the device is reserved for internal. Therefore, in this matter, the physical amount of built-in memory in the tablet model (8 or 64 Gigabytes) does not matter, since the system reserves no more than 500 megabytes.

Even storing applications not in the internal memory, but on an external SD card sometimes does not solve the problem. Settings, the application cache and the operating system, save in games and other information is still stored on the internal memory. Of course, there are programs that allow you to expand the memory or redistribute it differently, but this is a topic for another article. An error with a message about a lack of memory can be caused for various reasons, so I will describe the solutions I know and will do it, and you will share your methods in the comments.

What to do if there is not enough space on the tablet?

Based on the foregoing, the first thing you need to check in the settings is the available amount of internal memory on the device. You can view the memory status in the device’s settings by selecting the “Memory” item from the menu and finding the “Internal memory” section on the page. Here graphically displays information about what types of files take up space and how much is available for the tablet.

In principle, there is enough space, but if you need to clear the internal memory, you can delete photos, music ... First, transfer the files you need to the SD card (read in detail in the review), otherwise they will be deleted.

To bring it into action, you need to click on "Erase Internal Storage" (Clear internal memory) and all files will be deleted, and the program will work. If there is enough space for downloading and installing the application, and the system continues to report an error, then try to clear the cache in the Google Play market application (Path: “Applications” - “Third-party” - “Google Play Market” - “Clear Cache” button ) Here, if necessary, you can erase the data, and then reboot the device.

In addition, it will not be superfluous to enter the "Google Play Store" and find out if there are updates for installed applications. Surprisingly, it happens that the available updates are collected there when the “Automatically update” function is activated. Go to the application and click on the "Menu" button (usually located in the upper left corner) and select "My Applications" from the drop-down list. If updates exist, then try to install them not all at once, but in order.

With a large accumulation of updates, you may have to remove some of them, having previously written down their names, and install the remaining ones on the tablet and only then update those that were on our list earlier. In some cases, this approach to the update process helps out.

You can also try transferring applications to the SD card. To do this, go to the device’s settings, select the “Applications” item in the menu and go to the “SD card” tab or for some reason it is called “USB-drive” for some reason. Here you need to pay attention to applications for which the check box is not activated (there is no tick). It is these applications that you can transfer to an external drive, since the ones already ticked are on SD.

I must say that some application widgets after deportation to the SD card may no longer work, so decide whether to move them yourself or not. Also on this page in all applications you can “Erase data” and “Clear cache”. True, after these manipulations, the previously made settings in these programs will be lost, but the problem with a lack of memory in the tablet (smartphone) can be solved.

To free up some more memory in the tablet, you can generally remove updates in low-demand system applications. Each person will most likely have this set, but as an option it may be, for example, Google Speech Synthesizer. In the device’s settings, on the “Applications” tab, go to its page and click on the “Delete updates” button.

In addition, it will not be superfluous to specify an SD card as the preferred installation location. This option is usually placed in the settings on the "Memory" tab.

By the way, it is extremely rare, but a problem arises when, nevertheless, some application stubbornly does not want to be installed. In this case, you can try to remove the SD card from the device or simply change the parameter I mentioned for installation from the “SD card” to “Internal memory”. Before executing, you need to make sure that the internal memory is enough to complete the operation.

I want to draw your attention to the fact that you need to monitor the state of internal memory:

  • If less than 30 -50 megabytes of free space is available, then certain problems with installing applications may already occur.
  • It will also not be superfluous to periodically look at the Google Play market and monitor the progress of automatic application updates. If necessary, perform all in manual mode.
  • Remember to close applications running in the background.
  • Applications that you do not use are best removed.

Depending on the tablet / smartphone model and version of the operating system, the interface may be slightly different, but the principle of performing operations on these devices is the same. That's all. I hope you now understand why the tablet writes: “not enough memory” and you can solve this problem yourself without resetting your Android device to factory settings. If you have questions or tips, then put them in the comments. Till!

  Articles and Lifehacks

Sooner or later, the owners of any equipment become interested in the possibility of expanding the RAM. Our article will tell you how to add RAM in the tablet using the example of the Android OS and whether this is acceptable.

Can this be done in principle?

It seems quite obvious that the amount of physical memory in a device running a mobile operating system is a constant that cannot be changed.

However, sometimes it happens that a tablet based on the Android OS starts to slow down and demonstrates a deterioration in overall performance.

In this case, we need to use a special software that will create an additional swap file of random access memory. In addition, it is recommended that you try to optimize running applications.

If we decide to do optimization, we should decide which applications we are ready to sacrifice.

  1. We go to the "Applications" through the tablet settings and go to the "Memory Usage" section.
  2. Here we will be able to visually see all open applications that load RAM, as well as information about memory usage and a general list of programs.
  3. If the free RAM indicator is minimal (or even equal to 0), this means that you need to stop those working programs that we do not need right now.
  4. We click on the name of a specific application and select the appropriate item. If desired, we can also remove them altogether.
  5. Please note that after the tablet is restarted, all paused applications will start working again.
  6. Most RAM consumes "cloud" storage, navigator, email, games, Play Market and a flashlight. This means that you need to start with them.
Now a few words about creating a page file. It is located on a memory card or in read-only memory. You can create such a file using an application like SWAPit RAM Expander.

Such software will allow us to fully control the state of our memory and control the speed of the system. The program has a clear and convenient interface.

So, we found out that it is impossible to add physical RAM. Nevertheless, we can always increase the speed of work and optimize the system as a whole.

What can we do if we want to improve Android?

If desired, we can use an application called RAM Manager. We need it to optimize the RAM, and works with the system version 2.1 and higher.

The program improves the overall performance of the system (it becomes noticeably faster). In this case, an optimal balance is established between running applications that load memory and free memory.

The program will also allow us to solve problems associated with the slow operation of the tablet and multitasking.

In total, several RAM Manager operating modes are provided. For example, there are separate modes for launching powerful games, for operating the system with RAM more than 512 megabytes, etc. You can download the application from the Play Market.

Despite the fact that most Lenovo smartphones have a microSD slot, many users are faced with the problem of the inability to install new applications due to lack of memory in the phone. This is due to the fact that, as a rule, programs are installed in system memory.

Since the budget Lenovo has quite a bit of system memory (256-512 MB), it clogs up quite quickly. How to deal with it? Starting with Android 2.2, it became possible to transfer some applications of their system memory to the built-in or to an SD card.

For maximum convenience, I recommend using the AppMgr Pro III program (App 2 SD), which can be installed by downloading the link: link

Having launched the program, we see a list of all applications installed on the smartphone. In the "Movable" section are those applications that can be moved to a memory card. At the bottom of the screen is an indicator of the status of the memory, and under the icon of each placed the amount of occupied memory in the phone.

To move the selected program, you need to click on its icon, a window will open in which you need to click on the button "Move to SD card (built-in memory)", after which the transfer process will occur.

After transferring several programs, you can achieve the release of memory for installing new games and software.

Of course, to transfer applications, you may not need to use additional programs, just go to “phone settings” - “all settings” - “applications”.

And a list of installed programs will be displayed, but it does not indicate what could be transferred, so I prefer AppMgr Pro III, although if you wish, you can go to each item in this list and see if it can be transferred to a memory card.

Of course, first of all, to ensure free memory, you need to monitor WHAT and WHY you install on your smartphones.

If there is no need for some applications, it is advisable to remove them immediately. Many programs use the so-called cache - temporary files that provide quick access to information. For example, the VKontakte application caches music to listen to them without access to the Internet. If all this is initially cached into system memory, then naturally, free space will end very quickly. It is necessary to monitor this.

The cache clear button is located under the button for transferring applications to the memory card. Here it is already necessary to go into the programs and look at their cache, for example, the Aliexpress program caches all the pictures that are viewed by the user, which greatly clogs the place, but in fact they may never be useful. Conclusion - it is worth monitoring the cache of each application.

Today we will talk about the automatic installation of applications on a memory card for tablets running Android. Due to the lack of a microSD slot, Apple devices immediately disappear - they are limited by the amount of internal memory, so you have to store part of the data on the cloud. While in most Android tablets this slot is present. Let's say more, recently gadgets have begun to support memory cards up to two terabytes in size! And no, we have not sealed up - it really is.

If the method below does not work for you, then try, which we wrote, just recently.

Why are applications not saved to the memory card?

We hasten to upset you - in some devices by software it will not be possible to allow automatic installation on MicroSD. In particular, this applies to devices on Android 4.4.2 and higher - right up to the “marshmallow”. Fortunately, there is third-party software that allows you to do this. But let's not rush things - we will learn about everything in order.

Find out the version of Android
Well, now let's put it all on the shelves. First we need to find out the version of Android.

Go to the menu;
- Go to “Settings”;
- Scroll to the bottom and click on the item “About phone”;
- In the submenu that opens, look for information on the version;

In this case, it is Android 5.1.1. This method is suitable for both smartphones and tablets. As a matter of fact, on this device without “external” intervention it will not be possible to ensure that all applications are automatically installed on the card. But, as you already noticed, we have a third-party firmware with built-in Root rights.

With their help, you can easily install additional software that, working in the background, will “scatter” all files from programs and games on a flash drive.

Saving applications to a memory card for Android 2.2 - 4.2.2

Everything is extremely simple and banal here:

1. We also go to the menu and look for “Settings” - the icon, as a rule, resembles a gear in appearance — there should be no problems finding it;

2. Next, look for the sub-item “Memory”. In our case, it is between the “Screen” and the “Battery”. The menu may be different depending on the manufacturer of the device. In the screenshot - this is an example of a clean version of Android, without shells that are preinstalled at manufacturing plants;

3. And now the most important thing - tap once on the item “SD-card”, located below the inscription: “Disk for recording by default”. On the contrary, it should appear round or tick;

4. Profit! Now all applications downloaded through the Play Market will be automatically installed on external memory.

By the way, if the flash drive is slow, and there are some, then applications may not work correctly. Therefore, get a good SD-card - do not skimp.

What to do with devices on Android KitKat and higher?

Unfortunately, you cannot do without getting Root rights. Google has officially refused to support this feature in new versions of the operating system. The fact is that cloud services are becoming more widespread and, as a result, problems with lack of memory should not arise. But in our country there is no such high-speed Internet as in the USA, and the traffic is not cheap, so the clouds are not in demand.

Is there any way to make applications automatically install on a memory card? As we said above, this is real.

If you have a tablet of one of the Chinese companies, then there probably already have built-in Root rights, but you will have to tinker with other manufacturers. Naturally, during this article we can’t talk about their receipt, because the process for each gadget is unique - it’s possible to fit the instructions into a multi-volume book. But come on, it doesn’t matter.

You can contact a specialist with a request to establish Root rights or do it yourself at home. The last option is the most risky, there is a chance to turn your gadget into the so-called “brick” and they can restore it only in one of the service centers. However, if you have already had a similar procedure, no problems should arise. In extreme cases, on the expanses of the Internet in the appendage you can also find solutions to these very problems. So go ahead and experiment!

  • Something far enough away from the main topic of the article. So, back to the instructions: In any of the possible ways (flashing, unlocking the bootloader, and so on) we get Root rights;
  • Go to Google Play;
  • In the search bar we write: “SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD” - this is the helper application that will be useful to us in the future. Install it. We hope that no one needs to explain this? Just tap on the “Install” button once and the process will go on automatically, after which a shortcut will appear in the menu to start;
  • We open it and see a bunch of, probably incomprehensible, inscriptions in English. You do not need to translate them - everything is decided in a few clicks;
  • Click on “Continue”, as shown in the first screenshot;
  • We tick off our agreement that by pressing the “Continue” button the device will be slightly modified;
  • We are waiting for just a couple of minutes until the orange screen turns green.
  • On the green screen, we are informed about the successful inclusion of automatic installation of applications on the SD card.
Actually, that’s all. And the most difficult thing in this whole thing is getting Root rights. Fortunately, on the Internet there are step-by-step instructions for all gadgets that have ever arrived at store shelves, and there are enough instructions on our website.
