We will talk about the options for configuring the Windows 10 operating system using the Settings application in another article, but now we will focus on the question of how to access the Control Panel in its classic version, and there are several ways. Those who read the article "" probably remember that there are many ways to launch programs in operating systems of the Windows family. The Control Panel is no exception, which is an operating system application with many utilities.
The easiest way to open the "Control Panel" is to use the "Search in Windows" button(See 2 Fig.1) fixed by default on the "Taskbar" to the right of the "Start" button (see 3 Fig. 1). You must left-click on the "Search in Windows" button and enter the keywords "control panel" in the input line that appears (see 1 Fig. 2). The search results window should display a link to the icon for launching the classic Control Panel application (see 2 Fig. 2). The disadvantage of this way of launching the Control Panel application is that if you are doing this for the first time, your search engine may not redirect you to the application launch icon, but to some article posted on the Microsoft website. Considering that the Control Panel application is also a program, you can use the Control panel.exe executable file to launch it. You can run this file from the "Run" command window (the window can be easily found using the "Search" button (see 2 Fig. 1)). In addition, this can also be done from the command line window, which can be called up using the "All applications" button (see 4 Fig. 1), and then, after clicking it, open the list of applications "System - Windows" (not shown) . To launch the "Control Panel" from the command line or from the "Run" command window, you must enter the key phrase "Control panel" (without quotes) and press the "Enter" button on the keyboard.
It must be said that initially the Control Panel application in Windows 10 was displayed in the Explorer window. But for some reason, the developers from Microsoft considered it superfluous. After system updates, access to the Control Panel application from the File Explorer window has been removed. It is possible that someone (such access) remained, but this is most likely because this person either made changes to the registry of his system, or he did not have all the updates.
It should be noted that the developers of the Windows 10 operating system have also tried to make changes to some utilities of the Control Panel application. Those who periodically change the order in which files are displayed on their computer, as described in the "" article, should remember that these settings are not configured using the " Folders settings", as it was in the previous OS of the Windows family, and using the utility" Explorer Options".
